Summary
Edit
Yugi Muto and his friends are on Duelist Kingdom island looking for another duelist. Joey Wheeler is vowing that he can find his next opponent and remembers the time he took his sister Serenity Wheeler to the beach. Soon, they see Mai Valentine beating a man dressed like a bee. Mai flirts with Yugi, much to Téa Gardner's anger. Joey then challenges Mai to a duel. At the beginning, Mai starts beating Joey and claims she has ESP.
Eventually, Joey discovers that Mai has sprayed all of her cards with a different perfume, thereby showing how she had an advantage over Joey. Yugi transforms into Yami Yugi and tells Joey not to let Mai's breasts distract him and to also find a way to beat her. Joey then figures out that with the power of 4Kids censorship, he could be able to beat Mai. He uses his "Thousand Dragon" to beat Mai and win his first real duel, but Yami Yugi reminds him that Joey would still be nothing without him.

Edit
- The Episode title is a parody of the Cowboy Bebop episode "My Funny Valentine," itself borrowing the name of a Jazz ballad.
- The noise Téa makes when Mai touches Yugi's hand is from Metal Gear Solid.
- "Puberty Power!" is a take on "Puppy Power!," a line from Scrappy-Doo, a character from Scooby-Doo.
- The closing scene is from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi when Luke Skywalker confronts the Emperor.
- When Tea says "Do the words 'Robot Monkey mean anything to you?' it is a reference to a much later episode where Tristan gets his mind trapped in a robot monkey's body in Noah's Virtual World.
- When Joey plays Time Roulette, the song "Time Warp" is played, from the movie Rocky Horror Picture Show.
- According to CardGamesFTW, the Bee Kid is LKs favorite "one-line character".
