Yu-Gi-Oh! GX - Episode 171

The duel between Sartorius and Jaden is continued. Jaden is now facing a Sartorius' ultimate combo. Sartorius' Arcana Force 0 - The Fool is on Jaden's field along with face-down card. On the other side, Sartorius has Arcana Force VII - The Chariot and Arcana Force III - The Empress on his field. Jaden has only 1000 LP while Sartorius still has 4000 LP.

Jaden, who has realized that Sartorius is forced to duel him in order to save Sarina (who has been captured by Nightshroud), is trying to let Sartorius think of the correct way. He recommends Sartorius stop this duel so that both of them can think about the way to save Sarina together. Sartorius is afraid that it is too late. This duel can't be stopped. Meanwhile, Sartorius' left eye is full of tears, and he begins to cry only with one eye. Jaden is confused because Sartorius' actions are contradicting his words.

Sartorius tells Jaden that since he lost his power had never been at peace. He was unable to see the future or fight. This life confused Sartorius very much, and he didn't understand who he was. During that time, his last sister was taken away. This incident made him realize that the one with great power should have desired for greater and stronger power. If he denied it, he would be unable to protect his dear person. Dark aura is blowing around Sartorius' feet while he is saying. Jaden is very surprised by what actually made Sartorius be like this.

Sartorius ends his turn (The turn has been during his end phase since the last episode. He attacked Arcana Force 0 - The Fool with Arcana Force VII - The Chariot in this turn. However, Jaden blocked the strike with Negate Attack, forcing Sartorius to end his battle phase. He just played Sowing of the Fool and ended his turn at this point). He says that he would like to see how Jaden can fight against destiny if Jaden thinks that he can. At the same time, the dark aura beneath Sartorius' feet is spreading out to Jaden's field.

Jaden's turn. When he draws a card, Tour of Doom on Sartorius' field begins to spin. Sartorius activates the special effect of Arcana Force 0 - The Fool on to force Grim Reaper's Tour to stop right side up. The upright position means that Jaden cannot summon a monster in this turn. Jaden is depressed by this effect because it is blocking his summon repeatedly. With Tour of Doom and Arcana Force 0 - The Fool, Sartorius is convinced by that there is no way to change destiny.

Jaden is worried about the threat from Tour of Doom, Arcana Force 0 - The Fool, and Sowing of the Fool. It just depends on whether his LP will be gone first or if he will Deck Out first: if Arcana Force 0 - The Fool is attacked, Jaden will take a lot of damage. Although he can protect Arcana Force 0 - The Fool from any attack, his deck is gradually depleted by the effect of Sowing of the Fool. Thus, it's just a matter of time for him to be defeated, depending on whether he will lose all of his LP first or whether his deck will be totally gone first.

At this moment, Jaden is hears the sound of Winged Kuriboh. He quickly looks at the card he has just drawn. It's Transcendent Wings. Jaden looks at his face-down card and realizes that he can still win. He decides to set a face-down card and ends his turn. Sartorius smiles at seeing Jaden end his turn. The end of his turn means the end of his destiny as well.

On Sartorius' turn, he draws a card and attacks Arcana Force 0 - The Fool with Arcana Force VII - The Chariot immediately. Jaden quickly responds that it isn't over yet, revealing his face-down spell card The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh and Special Summoning Winged Kuriboh. Jaden explains that the combo of Tour of Doom and Arcana Force 0 - The Fool is a good one: however, the effect of Grim Reaper's Tour only works during Jaden's turn. In other words, Jaden is able to summon in Sartorius' turn. Sartorius is amazed by that Jaden figured out the only way but doubts what else Jaden can do by summoning a small fry like Winged Kuriboh with 300 attack points compared to 1700 attack points of Arcana Force VII - The Chariot.

Jaden smiles and says bravely that his monster will make it. He reveals his other face-down spell card Transcendent Wings . According to its effect, Jaden sends Winged Kuriboh on the field along with Polymerization and Elemental Hero Sparkman in his hand to the Graveyard to special summon Winged Kuriboh LV10. Due to the special effect of Winged Kuriboh LV10, all monsters on Sartorius' field are destroyed, and Sartorius takes damage equal to the attack points of the destroyed monsters. Therefore, Arcana Force VII - The Chariot and Arcana Force III - The Empress are destroyed, and Sartorius' LP drop to 1000. Which means him and Jaden are equal now.

Jaden feels relieved and thanks Winged Kuriboh for its help. Winged Kuriboh LV10 then disappears at the end of Sartorius' battle phase. Sartorius gets very mad but claims that his turn isn't finished yet. In his Main Phase 2, he summons Arcana Force VI - The Lovers.

Arcana Force VI - The Lovers appears on the field and starts spinning. With the special effect of Arcana Force 0 - The Fool, Sartorius chooses to stop it face up. Next, Sartorius activates spell card Reverse Reborn. With its effect, he can special summon Arcana Force VII - The Chariot back to the field in attack position. Jaden is upset by that: he thought that he would be able to destroy 2 of Sartorius' monsters, but he was able to summon another 2. As he expected, this isn't going to be easy at all.

Sartorius explains the upright effect of Arcana Force VI - The Lovers allows it to be treated as 2 tributes when Tribute Summoning an Arcana Force monster. He sacrifices Arcana Force VI - The Lovers and Arcana Force VII - The Chariot, in order to summon Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler.

Jaden knows that this monster with 4000 attack points is Sartorius' ace monster. When Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler is summoned successfully, the card spins. Sartorius again activates the special effect of Arcana Force 0 - The Fool, stopping it to upright. According to the upright effect, Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler can attack twice in the same battle phase.

The battle phase has already passed, so Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler can't attack in this turn. Next, Sartorius activates the effect of Arcana Force 0 - The Fool, stopping Sowing of the Fool upside-down. Due to the reverse effect, Jaden has to discard one card for every 300 attack points The Dark Ruler has. Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler has 4000 attack points, so 13 cards are discarded from Jaden's deck. After Jaden discards them, Sartorius concludes that Jaden has only 14 cards left now. He ends his turn at this point, rushing Jaden to draw and begin his turn.

Jaden is afraid to draw because the draw will result with only 13 cards left in his deck. In Sartorius' next turn, if he activates the effect of Sowing of the Fool again, he will have to discard the remaining 13 cards in his deck. Thus, his deck will have 0 cards. When the following turn comes, he will be defeated since he will Deck Out.

Sartorius says that Jaden's destiny is now hung by a thread. Suddenly, Jaden hears a voice coming from somewhere, that says that she is certain that her voice will reach Jaden. As Jaden is wondering who is calling, the voice tells him to strain his eyes. She believes that Jaden should be able to see her if he uses his power. Jaden understands what the voice wants to say, so he changes his eyes to Yubel's orange-blue eyes.

Meanwhile, a small portal to another dimension is opened above the duel field. Using the special power of Yubel's eyes, Jaden is able to see Sarina in that dimension. He has just realized that Sarina is calling him. Sarina is afraid that she has to meet him again his that form. Sarina is captured and is talking to Jaden from another dimension.

Jaden asks Sarina where she has been captured and what he should do to save her. Sarina shakes her head as if there is no way out. Meanwhile, Sartorius gets mad when he hears Jaden talking about Sarina. He asks what Jaden is trying to play. Jaden doubts whether Sartorius can see Sarina. Sarina tells Jaden that her voice can't reach her brother. No matter how much she tried, it's useless. Sartorius can't hear her at all but rushes Jaden to draw quickly and continue the game.

Sarina begs Jaden to use his power to save her brother. Jaden is confused that Sarina is telling him to use his power to save Sartorius and not herself. He asks her what she means by that. Sarina explains that when Sartorius was defeated by Jaden, the Light of Destruction inside him was supposed to be destroyed completely. She believed that her brother desired to live like a normal man from his heart. However, she was wrong.

After that, her brother appeared in darkness while dark aura was surrounding and consuming him. Sarina explains to Jaden that her brother seemed unable to escape from his desire to obtain power. Sartorius can be now saved only by a duel, so she hopes Jaden can use his power to release him. Jaden understands what Sarina wants to say. More importantly, he would like to know what he should do to save her after he is able to save Sartorius. Sarina doesn't tell JAden to save her and just wants a chance to calm her brother's desire. Jaden is trying to call her as her image disappears. Jaden closes his eyes before opening them again. His eyes have turned back to normal. Jaden looks seriously at Sartorius chuckling and smiling. He rids himself of his hesitation and draws confidently. Once Jaden draws, Sartorius activates the special effect of Arcana Force 0 - The Fool to stop Tour of Doom at the upright. Again, its upright position stops Jaden from summoning any monster this turn.

Sartorius understands that Jaden has only 13 cards left. On his next turn, Jaden has to discard them all by the effect of Sowing of the Fool. Jaden says that he won't let Sartorius do so. Even if it is a limited chance, there must be a way to open the destiny inside. It's Jaden's belief in a duel (In other words, although he doesn't have much chance in a duel, he believes that there is always another way out).

Jaden looks at the card he has just drawn; it is Hero Blast. The other cards in his hand are Miracle Flipper and A Hero Emerges. He sets 2 face-down cards and he ends his turn. Sartorius believes that, by the absolute power controlled by this field, there is no way for Jaden to win. This is going to be Jaden's last turn.

It is Sartorius' turn. He draws, then quickly attacks Arcana Force 0 - The Fool with Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler. Two draconic heads appear from Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler before firing dark energy towards Arcana Force 0 - The Fool. Saartorius chuckles malevolently while Jaden still looks calm.

In the main hall of Duel Academy, Blair is checking the names of students at a table while Atticus, Chazz, Alexis, and Syrus are standing nearby. She sees something unusual: she can't match the names of the students in the list and the record in her PDA. Syrus and Alexis ask Blair to recheck since they dueled more than 10 people today. It shouldn't be possible that there is no record of the duelists they played.

Chazz takes the list from Blair and doubts whether it is reliable. He looks through each page and becomes very surprised because the list contains a very small number of students. He knows that the number of Duel Academy students isn't as small as this. Many lines on the list are blank. Atticus thinks that the list is correct. He has been aware of something weird around the school as well. The number of students at the entrance seems very small, which explains the small number of students on the list. Atticus doubts the number of students has decreased that much.

Blair is surprised where people have gone. Alexis feels that there is also something unusual because she is unable to remember the duelists she played today. Syrus can't remember the students he played with today, either. Chazz thinks everyone is sleeping like Jaden. Speaking of Jaden, he also wonders where Jaden is. Alexis isn't sure but thinks that Jaden should be with Hassleberry.

At the same time, Hassleberry is looking for Sorano in the forest but hasn't seen anybody. He doesn't understand where Jaden went or why Jaden wants him to search for Sorano. Shortly, something moving passes in front of Hassleberry. He sees the Sorano's dark shadow moving and passing in front of him. Sorano seems to move into the forest, so Hassleberry runs after him. The point is that Sorano's shadow is moving and he doesn't look as if he is walking.

At the top of the KC building, Sartorius is smiling: Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler's attack is moving towards Arcana Force 0 - The Fool. For some reason, the shot's direction changes towards another monster. Sartorius is surprised, while Jaden explains that when Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler attacked, he activated his face-down trap card A Hero Emerges to summon Miracle Flipper. Jaden was able to automatically special summon it onto the field in defense position. According to Miracle Flipper's special abiltiy, it always has to become the first attack target. Thus, Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler was forced to attack Miracle Flipper; not Arcana Force 0 - The Fool.

In addition the second effect of Miracle Flipper activates; when destroyed in battle, it can be special summoned onto Sartorius' field in defense position. Sartorius doesn't know what Jaden intends to do but he doesn't want anything to do with it. He reminds Jaden the effect of Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler means this monster can attack twice in a battle phase.

Sartorius hopes this should be ended before declaring Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler's second attack towards Arcana Force 0 - The Fool. At this moment, Necro Guardna appears in front of Arcana Force 0 - The Fool to protect it before a large explosion occurs. As Sartorius is surprised again, Jaden explains the special effect of Necro Guardna. By removing Necro Guardna from his Graveyard from play, Jaden is able to negate the attack of Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler. He tells Sartorius that he could activate its effect because Necro Guardna was previously sent to the graveyard by Sowing of the Fool. According to the upright effect of Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler, it has to switch to defense position at the end phase.

Jaden smiles while asking how Sartorius feels about too much power that seems to be in vain. Sartorius gets very mad at Jaden, but he thinks that he still has the upper hand. When he next activates the effect of Sowing of the Fool, Jaden will Deck Out. Jaden doubts whether things will be as Sartorius expects before revealing his last face-down card: Hero Blast. Jaden selects Elemental Hero Sparkman and destroys Miracle Flipper, which has lower attack points than Elemental Hero Sparkman. Sartorius still doesn't understand and asks what Jaden is planning. Jaden smiles and tells Sartorius that it seems the gate of destiny has already been opened. Sartorius still looks surprised. Jaden explains the third effect of Miracle Flipper; when it's destroyed by a spell/trap effect, a monster on the opponent's side of the field can be destroyed. Miracle Flipper is on Sartorius' field, so the a monster on Jaden's field is destroyed. Sartorius is amazed as seeing what Jaden is planning. He has just realized that Jaden has prepared; to destroy Arcana Force 0 - The Fool.

Jaden says that Sartorius can no longer manipulate destiny. He asks whether Sartorius wants to have him try the effect of Sowing of the Fool (This time with 50%-50% probability). Sartorius certainly wants to bet. He activates Sowing of The Fool, and the card begins to turn. This time, Jaden has to determine destiny by himself. He stops the card, and it pauses at upright. It becomes Sartorius' bad luck. Due to its upright effect, Sartorius has to discard 13 cards.

Sartorius looks scared and wonders whether his destiny has been destroyed along with Arcana Force 0 - The Fool. Jaden tries to explain that there is no power able to control destiny. If Sartorius is the same person he was before, he should be able to understand better than anybody.

Sartorius looks very angry at Jaden before setting two face-down cards and ending his turn. He tells Jaden that he has understood completely although Jaden didn't say so. Even if there is some way to go against destiny, a person is unable to do so without power. Sartorius hopes Jaden should understand this better than anyone because Jaden was once possessed by the Supreme King's power. Jaden's eyes turn to Yubel's orange-blue eyes as he is arguing with Sartorius that he actually didn't lose to seduction of power. He knew this well when he obtained such a power. Power isn't for fulfilling a person's desire but accomplishing a big mission. Sartorius has assigned a mission for him to find out the identity of Nightshroud. Thus, Jaden intends to use this power in order to accomplish this mission. While he is speaking, wind is swirling around his body and blowing dark aura around his field.

Saiou- When The Fool was destroyed, was my destiny also ruined? Judai- There's no power which controls destiny. If you were what you were before, you would know it better than anyone. Saiou- I set two cards down and end my turn! I know even if you don't say so! But even if there is a way to go against destiny, you can go against it only if you have power! Judai! You, who were possessed by Supreme King's power, would know it better than anyone else! Judai- I don't lose to the seduction of power! I understood when I took the power in. The power is not for fulfilling your desire! It's for accomplishing a big mission! Saiou, the mission to find out about identity of Darkness you requested me to do. To accomplish it, I will use this power! Draw!

During Jaden's last turn, he draws with confidence. Sartorius activates the effect of Tour of Doom. Without Arcana Force 0 - The Fool, Jaden can determine the card's position with a 50-50 chance. When it stops, the card is face up. Its upright position allows Jaden to summon a monster this turn.

Jaden activates Fifth Hope, shuffling Elemental Hero Avian, Elemental Hero Burstinatrix, Elemental Hero Bubbleman, Elemental Hero Clayman, and Elemental Hero Bladedge back into his deck to draw 3 cards. Sartorius knows that Jaden will summon a fusion monster, so he activates his face-down trap card Reversal of Fate, turning Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler upside down. Next he activates the trap card Arcana Call, selecting the reverse effect of Arcana Force 0 - The Fool and equipping it to Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler. The reverse effect of Arcana Force 0 - The Fool means that Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler is unable to be the targeted by, or affected by, Jaden's spell, trap, or monster effects.

Note: It's unclear whether the effect of Arcana Call applies to the player's or the opponent's graveyard. Anyway, in anime, Sartorius puts this card in Judai's deck. When Arcana Force 0 - The Fool was destroyed, it's supposed to go to Judai's graveyard. Thus, the effect of Arcana Call seems to affect the opponent's graveyard in anime.

Jaden next activates Miracle Contact. Sartorius doesn't care which fusion monster Jaden is going to summon since its effect can't work with Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler copying the reverse effect of Arcana Force 0 - THE FOOL. Jaden doesn't seem to care what Sartorius is saying, activating the effect of Miracle Contact to return Elemental Hero Neos, Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab, and Neo-Spacian Grand Mole to his deck to special summon Elemental Hero Magma Neos. With Magma Neos' special ability, it gains 400 attack points by for each card on the field. There are 4: Tour of Doom, Sowing of the Fool, Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler, and Elemental Hero Magma Neos, so Magma Neos' attack points increase to 4600. Sartorius is amazed that the attack points of Elemental Hero Magma Neos are now higher than Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler's.

Jaden attacks Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler with Elemental Hero Magma Neos. Sartorius doesn't lose any LP because Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler is in defense position. He then activates the reverse effect of Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler. When it is destroyed in battle, all cards on the field are destroyed.

Therefore, Tour od Doom, Sowing of the Fool, and Elemental Hero Magma Neos are destroyed. There is nothing left on both fields. Sartorius claims that Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler has another reverse effect that allows it to summon itself back onto the field in his next standby phase. When that time comes, Jaden will lose.

Jaden is afraid that the time will never come. He plays his last spell card Reverse of Neos special summoning Elemental Hero Neos with another 1000 attack points. Since it is still Jaden's battle phase, he can attack with Sartorius directly with Neos. Sartorius calms down and closes his eyes as if he has already accepted his destiny, saying "Good Bye...My Destiny~" and getting the direct hit from Neos, his LP dropping to 0. Sartorius is finally defeated and collapses onto the ground.

As Jaden is looking worried about Sartorius, he sees the dark aura beneath Sartorius' body moving up like bubbles. His body begins to fly up along with them. Sartorius looks at Jaden with kind eyes and accepts this destiny of the fool. While Sartorius is looking up, he sees Sarina flying down from another dimension.

Sarina tells her brother that she is going to stay with him. Sartorius tells his sister that he has been such a foolish brother until this very moment. Sarina doesn't mind and says that her brother is always by her side. Sartorius is glad to see that Sarina seems to have forgiven him. While both of them are smiling, Jaden is looking worried about them.

Sarina turns to thank Jaden for his help to release them from the crime of this world. Meanwhile, Sartorius turns to say farewell to Jaden. Both of them then disappear into another dimension in the air. Jaden feels very upset and declares that he will save both of them. Suddenly, the whole KC building begins to shake heavily. The set-up bombs all explode. The KC building is about to collapse, and Jaden is looking around for a way out.
