"The Art of the Duel", known as "The Duel Stage's Passageway" in the Japanese version, is the eighty-sixth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime. It first aired in Japan on May 24, 2006 and in the United States on January 6, 2007.

Jaden Yuki Duels Orlando as part of the Genex Tournament. Orlando is a Kabuki stage actor and Professional Cosplay Duelist.

Turn 1: Orlando
Orlando activates "Kabuki Stage - Big Bridge" and Normal Summons "Yoshitsune the Goblin of Beauty" (800/800) in Attack Position.

Turn 2: Jaden
Jaden Normal Summons "Elemental Hero Sparkman" (1600/1400) in Attack Position. "Sparkman" attacks "Yoshitsune", but the effect of the latter activates, switching it Defense Position as it was attacked by a monster with 1000 or more ATK. It cannot be destroyed by battle while in Defense Position. As a monster was attacked, Orlando activates the effect of "Big Bridge", Special Summoning a Level 4 monster from his hand - "Armed Samurai - Ben Kei" (500/800).

Turn 3: Orlando
Orlando switches "Yoshitsune" to Attack Position. He then equips "Ben Kei" with "Monk Halberd", increasing its ATK by 500, to 1000 until the End Phase. Via its effect, it gains an additional attack since it is equipped with an Equip Card. It may now attack twice per turn. He activates "Dramatic Pose", decreasing the ATK of "Sparkman" by 500, to 1100 and increasing the ATK of "Ben Kei" and "Yoshitsune" by 500, to 1500 and 1300, respectively until the End Phase. "Ben Kei" attacks and destroys "Sparkman" (Jaden 4000 → 3600). Jaden activates the effect of "Big Bridge", Special Summoning "Elemental Hero Wildheart" (1500/1600) from his hand in Attack Position. "Ben Kei" attacks and destroys "Wildheart" (Jaden 3600 → 3100). "Yoshitune" attacks directly (Jaden 3100 → 1800). Orlando activates "Kabuki Stage - Cherry Blossom Mountain" and Normal Summons "Shizuka the Heavenly Dancer" (300/600). He equips it with "New Year Drum", which will Special Summon a "Battle Claw Fox" from his Deck when "Shizuka" is attacked and switch the attack target to it.

Turn 4: Jaden
Jaden activates "Polymerization", fusing "Elemental Hero Avian" with "Elemental Hero Burstinatrix" to Fusion Summon "Elemental Hero Flame Wingman" (2100/1200) in Attack Position. "Flame Wingman" attacks, with Orlando choosing "Shizuka" as the attack target with the effect of "Cherry Blossom Mountain". The effect of "Shizuka" increases Orlando's Life Points by 600 (Orlando 4000 → 4600). The effect of the equipped "New Year Drum" activates, Special Summoning "Battle Claw Fox" (800/800) from his Deck in Attack Position, who becomes the new attack target (Orlando 4600 → 3300). The effect of "Flame Wingman" activates, inflicting damage equal to the destroyed monster's ATK (Orlando 3300 → 2500). Jaden activates "De-Fusion" sending "Flame Wingman" to the Fusion Deck and Special Summoning "Avian" (1000/1000) and "Burstinatrix" (1200/800) from his Graveyard, both in Attack Position (apparently "Flame Wingman" was still sent to the graveyard at the end of the turn). "Burstinatrix" attacks, with Orlando choosing "Shizuka" as the attack target with the effect of "Cherry Blossom Mountain". The effect of "Shizuka" increases Orlando's Life Points by 600 (Orlando 2500 → 3100). The effect of the equipped "New Year Drum" activates, Special Summoning "Battle Claw Fox" (800/800) from his Deck in Attack Position, who becomes the new attack target (Orlando 3100 → 2700). "Avian" attacks, with Orlando choosing "Ben Kei" as the attack target via the effect of "Cherry Blossom Mountain" (Orlando 2700 → 2200). Jaden Sets a card and "Burstinatrix" is destroyed via the effect of "Battle Claw Fox" at the End Phase.

Turn 5: Orlando
Orlando activates "Pot of Greed", drawing two cards. Orlando sends "Cherry Blossom Mountain" to the Graveyard to activate "Kabuki Stage - The Rough Seas" from his Deck. He activates that card's effect, adding a Level 5 or higher monster from his Deck to his hand. Orlando Tributes "Shizuka" and "Yoshitsune" to Normal Summon "Gengis Ghan - The Emperor Dragon" (2800/2300) in Attack Position. "Gengis Ghan" attacks "Avian", but Jaden activates his face-down "Feather Storm", swapping the ATK and DEF of "Gengis Ghan" (Jaden 1800 → 500). Orlando Sets a card.

Turn 6: Jaden
Jaden Special Summons "Elemental Hero Bubbleman" (800/1200), drawing two cards via its effect. Jaden activates the effect of "The Rough Seas" adding a Level 5 or higher monster from his Deck to his hand. Jaden activates "Miracle Fusion" removing "Flame Wingman" and "Sparkman" in his Graveyard from play to Fusion Summon "Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman" (2500/2100) in Attack Position, whose ATK becomes 3400 via its own effect. "Shining Flare Wingman" attacks "Gengis Ghan", but Orlando activates his face-down "Thousand Strings", negating the attack and decreasing the ATK of all face-up monsters to 0. Jaden activates "Quick Summon", Tributing "Shining Flare Wingman" and "Bubbleman" to Normal Summon "Elemental Hero Neos" (2500/2000). "Neos" attacks and destroys "Gengis Ghan" (Orlando 2200 → 0). Jaden wins.
