"Yusei's Last Stand", known as "The Three Immortal Polar Star Gods! Cry Out, Savior Star Dragon!" in the Japanese version, is the one-hundred-and-twenty-eighth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime.

Yusei faces Halldor, as he looks to strengthen his defenses while looking for a way to win the match. On the other hand, Halldor begins with a spectacular opening by Synchro Summoning "Odin, Father of the Aesir". Yusei then finds himself riding on impossible odds against the Three Gods against whom all Spells and Traps are useless. Though Yusei is driven to the edge by the brutal attacks of the gods, his strategy sees through the powers of the God Cards, bringing the duel against Team Ragnarok to its exciting climax as he opposes Harald by Summoning "Majestic Star Dragon".

Featured Duel: Yusei Fudo vs. Halldor

...continued from previous episode.

Turn 16: Halldor
Halldor has just managed to Synchro Summon "Odin, Father of the Aesir". Halldor activates "Odin, Father of the Aesir's" effect to make all Divine-Beast-Type monsters unaffected by Spells and Traps for one turn, thus making the Aesirs unaffected by "Monster Chain". "Loki, Lord of the Aesir" attacks and destroys a Compass Token. "Thor, Lord of the Aesir" attacks and destroys the other Compass Token. "Odin, Father of the Aesir" attacks and destroys "Cosmic Compass". Halldor sets 1 card. At the End Phase, Yusei removes one Chain Counter from "Monster Chain". It now has 2 Chain Counters remaining.

Turn 17: Yusei Fudo
(Yusei's SPC : 5; Halldor's SPC : 5) Yusei's hand contains "Doppelwarrior", "Speed Spell - Angel Baton", and "Quillbolt Hedgehog". Yusei draws "Majestic Dragon". He then activates "Speed Spell - Angel Baton", drawing 2 cards("Speed Spell - Overtune" and "Debris Dragon") and sending "Quillbolt Hedgehog" from his hand to the Graveyard. He then Normal Summons "Debris Dragon" (1000/2000) in Attack Position. Since "Debris Dragon" was Normal Summoned, Yusei activates its effect to Special Summon "Cosmic Compass" (100/300) in Attack Position with its effects negated. Since Yusei controls a Tuner Monster, he Special Summons "Quillbolt Hedgehog" (800/800) in Attack Position via its own effect. Since Yusei Special Summoned a monster from his Graveyard, he Special Summons "Doppel Warrior" (800/800) in Attack Position via its own effect. Yusei then tunes "Doppelwarrior" and "Quillbolt Hedgehog" with "Debris Dragon" to Synchro Summon "Stardust Dragon" (2500/2000) in Attack Position. Since "Doppelwarrior" was sent to the Graveyard for a Synchro Summon, its effect activates, allowing Yusei to Special Summon a "Doppel Token" (400/400) in Attack Position. Next, Yusei activates "Speed Spell - Overtune", Tributing the "Doppel Token" to Special Summon "Majestic Dragon" (0/0) in Attack Position. Yusei then tunes "Stardust Dragon" and "Cosmic Compass" with "Majestic Dragon" to Synchro Summon "Majestic Star Dragon" (3800/3000) in Attack Position. Due to "Monster Chain's" effect, Yusei cannot attack. Since "Cosmic Compass" was sent to the Graveyard for a Synchro Summon, its effect activates, allowing Yusei to draw 1 card("Wave Rebound"). Yusei sets "Wave Rebound". He then activates "Stay Force". Now by paying 1000 Life Points, Yusei can negate the effects of one monster until the next turn. Yusei uses the effect of "Stay Force" (Yusei 4000 → 3000) to negate the effects of "Majestic Star Dragon" which will prevent "Majestic Star Dragon" from returning to Yusei's Extra Deck on the End Phase due to its last effect.

Turn 18: Halldor
(Yusei's SPC : 6; Halldor's SPC : 6) Halldor draws. He then activates "Odin's Eye" (whose activation cannot be negated), negating the effects of the Aesirs in order to see Yusei's set card. It is revealed to be "Wave Rebound". Halldor realizes that if he activates "Odin, Father of the Aesir's" effect, Yusei will activate "Majestic Star Dragon's" effect which will destroy all cards on his field. The Aesirs will revive themselves on the End Phase, but Yusei will activate "Wave Rebound" to negate the summons and inflict damage to Halldor equal to the ATK of the Aesirs, defeating Halldor. Halldor sets 1 card instead. At the End Phase, Yusei removes one Chain Counter from "Monster Chain". It now has 1 Chain Counter remaining.

Turn 19: Yusei Fudo
(Yusei's SPC : 7; Halldor's SPC : 7) Yusei draws. He then activates "Speed World 2's" effect, removing 7 Speed Counters (Yusei's SPC: 7 → 0) to draw 1 card. Yusei activates the effect of "Stay Force" again (Yusei 3000 → 2000) to prevent "Majestic Star Dragon" from returning to Yusei's Extra Deck on the End Phase due to its last effect.

Turn 20: Halldor
(Yusei's SPC : 1; Halldor's SPC : 8) Halldor draws. Halldor's hand contains "Birthright", "Soul Resurrection", and "Gleipnir, the Fetters of Fenrir". He then activates "Odin, Father of the Aesir's" effect to make the Aesirs unaffected by Spells and Traps for one turn, but Yusei activates "Majestic Star Dragon's" effect, Tributing it to negate "Odin, Father of the Aesir's" effect and destroy all cards Halldor controls. Halldor sets 1 card. On the End Phase, Halldor activates the effects of the Aesirs to revive them, but Yusei activates "Wave Rebound" to negate the summons and inflict damage to Halldor equal to the ATK of the Aesirs, however Halldor activates the effect of "Gjallarhorn" from his Graveyard, returning it from his Graveyard to his Spell and Trap Card Zone and activating it. Due to the effect of "Gjallarhorn", the Special Summoning effects of the Aesirs can't be negated this turn, so "Wave Rebound" is wasted.
