Winged Kuriboh is Jaden Yuki's main Spirit Partner. In the anime, he begins following Jaden after the latter received the "Winged Kuriboh" card from Yugi Muto. In the manga, the card was instead given to Jaden by Koyo Hibiki.

Biography[]

Ancient Egypt[]

White Winged Kuriboh v Feather of Ma'at

White Winged Kuriboh.

In the manga, the priest before Karim judged Tragoedia using the Millennium Scales. Winged Kuriboh, known as the White Feathered Spirit, was weighed against the Feather of Ma'at. The White Feathered Spirit represented the sin in Tragoedia's heart, while the feather represented righteousness, truth and order. Tragoedia's sins greatly outweighed righteousness, truth and order, causing the White Feathered Spirit's end of the scales to immediately hit the ground. The sins were so strong that Winged Kuriboh turned black.

Modern times[]

In the manga, Koyo Hibiki received the "Winged Kuriboh" card from Maximillion Pegasus at a Duel Monsters mall tournament, and passed it on to Jaden Yuki.

In the anime, Yugi Muto gives it to Jaden after the latter bumped into the former in a big hurry. Yugi also said that he felt that the card wanted to be with Jaden. After obtaining the card, Winged Kuriboh became Jaden's Spirit Partner and often appeared alongside Jaden, particularly to express concern. Sometimes he would appear when Jaden needed him the most, like when he was in a tough situation, or to tell him the card he will draw could help him. In episode 4, Ms. Dorothy gave Jaden "Winged Kuriboh LV10", along with "Transcendent Wings", to which he used to defeat Chazz. Winged Kuriboh will sometimes hide behind Jaden's head after being frightened by something. During season 3 Winged Kuriboh would sometimes fight with Jesse Anderson's spirit partner, Ruby Carbuncle.

Trivia[]

  • Winged Kuriboh, despite being one of Jaden's main spirit partners, never made an appearance in the movie Bonds Beyond Time. However, his affinity with Winged Kuriboh is alluded to with his use of The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh during the Duel against Paradox.
