From Yu-Gi-Oh!
Dueling: Yu-Gi-Oh is my son's (9) first attempt at a strategy game and its been enlightening to me as well. What started as helping him has become a job is designing and upgrading decks, of which we currently run around 10, from Crystsal Beasts to Zombie to Yubel. I'm constantly upgrading each of them and testing them against the others. I am constantly thinking of strategies to use against the norm. Some work, some don't, some constantly seem like a work in progress and with so many different variations out there I've found that no one deck can constantly win. Every deck has a weakness, but the best decks minimize that weakness or find the weaknesses in other decks and exploit them.
Just finished regionals in Seattle and ran into Tele-DAD and Lightsworn decks only. And thats between both my son and I. Sadly, our Counter Fairy and Lightsworn decks didn't fair as well as we suspected against Tele-DAD, which is just way too fast. Also, with Crush, its an amazing deck, though it requires almost all spells and limited traps. I'm trying to design a deck to stop Tele-DAD with Vanity's Fiend and Royal Oppression.
I'm also going to do the same with the Counter Fairy deck by adding Vanity's Ruler and another Invicil, while pulling out the Athena's for the side deck. Now that I have my 3 Gellenduo's I think I might be able to stop Tele-DAD (hopefully).

I have a large collection of cards and am willing to trade multiples for any of those listed above. |
