Talk:Tribute Summon
From Yu-Gi-Oh!
I have had a question floating in my head ever since i started playing Yu-Gi-Oh!; if i wish to summon a monster under level 5 (i.e. does not require tribute) can i tribute anyway? Is there a rule somewhere that states "YOU CANNOT TRIBUTE MORE MONSTERS THAN IS REQUIRED" ?

Actually, the rules are a whitelist, meaning only actions mentioned in the rulebook (and any rulings, errata, etc.) can be performed. Oh, and next time, use the forum, please. Sabre Knight 20:10, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Tribute?!
This is just a general question, when a monster is tributed is it destroyed?
- No. Danny Lilithborne 14:46, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] tributing
can u normal summon then tribute it the same turn?
- No (unless via "Double Summon", "Compensation of Blood" or some other method that allows you to Normal Summon more than once). Danny Lilithborne 14:46, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Ultimate offering Tribute?
The effect of ultimate offering, I.E.[normal summon or set one monster]. Are tributes required for a 5 star and above monster? In other words, it is my turn. Opponent has no monster on the field. I attack with a Blue Eyes. Opp. activates Ult. Offering. Is he allowed to play a barrel dragon from his handon to the field using the effect of ultimate offering?
- Only if he can summon the required tributes from his hand first. You can't just pay 1500 Life Points and get a two-tribute monster. Danny Lilithborne 21:54, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
When it is your oppnents turn can you tribute a monster for an effect? (example: stradust dragon) or can you only use his effect when it is your turn?
