For this card’s effect, the chosen attack target must still be legal. You cannot force a monster to attack directly if it normally cannot, or force a monster to attack a monster on its own side of the field. (From the ruling page.) --Pizzaman 05:15, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Patrician of Darkness´s Legal Effect

--Koryuseness 23:27, October 13, 2009 (UTC) This effect is like this: Attacking the Life Points directly cannot be choose like an attack target because legaly is not one; if one monster have the effect of attack the Life Points directly, even if you choose another monster like target for the attack, the monster will and must even attack directly after all by its effect. You cannot choose one of his/her own monsters on her/his Field for attack target or choose the same attacking monster to destroy it with its own attack (like attacking itself). This effect only applies to select another monster in your Field like attack target instead of the one chosen by the opponent´s attack. For more information, read the Rulings about this card on this page.
