Dark Bakura[]

Dark Diva is Dark Bakura controlling Aigami. The movie seemed like it showed the scene of Dark Bakura's first appearance and the ring merging into Bakura - like it later does to Aigami, to show this so the viewer understands. Most tellingly though are Dark Diva's lines; "Diva is no longer in control, I am, his fear invited me into his soul, he has saved me!" referring to how Dark Diva is not Diva and how taking over Diva saved him from his previous defeat, and "Shin is my master no longer, that is why I did away with him", Dark Diva refers to himself as the one who killed Shin - and as it was shown in the flashback, it was Dark Bakura who killed Shin.--Neffyarious (talkcontribs) 12:10, July 29, 2017 (UTC)

My thoughts on this go back to reading this summary. (Yes, it is not an official source.) When saying that Mani got corrupted by the Ring, the author was very insistent that people do not mistake the evil of the Millennium Ring for Dark Bakura. Presumably the same holds true for when it corrupted Diva.

The quotes you've given are not used in the Japanese version of the film. This is the Japanese dialogue between Sera and Dark Diva, translated by Tatsunoboshi Horoko.

Big Brother! Big Brother, what in the world is this!?
Aah, is that you, Sera? So pure... Immaculate, consciousnesses linked together... But, behold! At this abhorrent yet beautiful form! Our desire is that of a world of a higher plane! However, the price to do so is this! I shall now open the doors. I shall drag everything into a dimension of darkness!
Big Brother! Don't tell me...! That cube is the door to a dimensional domain. An eighth Millennium Item!?
Shin-sama had to gather the seven Millennium Items and send the spirit of the pharaoh to the netherworld in order to activate the power of the cube. So that this sullied world would dimensionally shift and we would build up a brand new world...
Yes, that cube... was the door leading to a utopia for the chosen people and them alone.
Precisely, Sera.
But, should so much as a drop of the beautiful impurity known as hatred mixes into the dimensional domain...!
Big Brother...
Sera!

Dark Bakura supposedly died during the Shadow RPG, so shouldn't be able to possess people. We know that the Ring contained an evil capable of corrupting people, before Dark Bakura existed in it. Mahado mentioned this and had to use his own magical powers to suppress that evil.

Shadi mentions three items are weak to evil, the Ring, Eye and Rod. In the case of Marik and Pegasus, we see that they hatch onto a desire, exploit it and push them to do evil. In the cases of Mani and Diva, it's their upset over Shadi's death and goal to purify the dimension. Mani and Diva were acting on corrupted versions of their own motives, not Dark Bakura's motives. -- Deltaneos (talk) 15:41, July 29, 2017 (UTC)

Well, wouldn't that imply that in the dub Dark Bakura possessed Aigami? Scheepybird (talkcontribs) 04:30, July 30, 2017 (UTC)
No...I'm getting frustrated with people assuming that...it's just the evil nature of the Ring itself. At no point does it make the claim that it's Yami Bakura. Sanokal K-T (talkcontribs) 06:08, July 30, 2017 (UTC)
The only reason I stated that is because Neffyarous had some pretty solid evidence for the dub, with the only counter being that it wasn't the case in the sub. Scheepybird (talkcontribs) 16:31, July 30, 2017 (UTC)
