Talk:Call of the Haunted
From Yu-Gi-Oh!
Why is this card Banned. You can only summon from your own Graveyard, it has to be in face-up ATK mode & if this card is no longer on the field, bye-bye monster. Monster Reborn isn't banned, why is this card banned. (Note I don't think Monster Reborn should be banned, it should just stay at Limited, I'm just saying the standards for the Banned/Limited list make no sense.) 124.177.70.28 08:08, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- Everybody is under the impression, that if one of two cards is to be banned, it has to be the better one. This isn't always the case. Currently there are three major recursion cards. "Call of the Haunted", "Premature Burial" and "Monster Reborn". Konami insists on having two, so one has to be Forbidden. Hearing this, people would jump and say "Monster Reborn" is the best ban it. If "Call of the Haunted" didn't exist, they may not see a problem with having "Monster Reborn" and "Premature Burial" as the major recursion cards.
- The criteria there is true, but maybe doesn't apply to "Monster Reborn" since it's still way too powerful. It could apply to other cards though.
- But look, basically they wanted to allow "Monster Reborn" for at least one format. Having the the 3 said cards is too powerful for the format, so they had to remove one to barely balance it. -- Deltaneos 09:26, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- But premature is banned now, why not just have premature banned?
It's probably due to the fact that Jinzo got the Unlimited status now. 98.199.15.95 18:51, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
They probably banned it because you can summon a monster during your opponents turn for free.
Note: There is a "mini-Call" card out called "Birthright" it does kinda the same thing but only for normal monsters (Blue-eyes, Dark Magician, Luster Dragon 1&2, and other normal monster power houses such as spiral serpent 2900/2900 (My Best Card).
Let's just be thankfull that Monster Reborn is back! ^_^!
That's not even cool that CotH is banned. I just gave the card to my girlfriend for her Zombie deck. And now it's banned? It's not even as strong as some of the unbanned cards!
[edit] JINZO, SKILL DRAIN and CALL OF THE HAUNTED
what happen if I select JINZO with CALL OF THE HAUNTED effect!?
What happen if SKILL DRAIN is active on the field and JINZO is summoned!?
Skill drain's effect stands.
This should answer all your questions.
I agree it shouldn't be banned. Also what's the point of banning cards anyways!--Blueyeyesawesomedragon 20:16, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Monster Reborn is legendary, this mean they never ban him. Call Of the Haunted is not so broken as Monster Reborn. But everything that Special Summons from the graveyard without Type/Attribute/Archetype conditions deserves to be banned.

no card deserves to be banned. every card has a counter and a weakness. if you can't find a card to counter/destroy a card, then you aren't smart enough for this fast paced game. Monter reborn has monster, magic & trap cards that can destroy it. therefore no card should ever be banned.
card games are luck of the draw and intelligence, if you have neither, u will be adding cards to the banned list because you can't keep up.

Premature Burial allows for Brionac abuse. Call of the Haunted is chainable. They just aren't the same.
for what ever dumb ass wrote the end of this.. cause the rest is all fine... but "no cards should be banned" okay...so last turn, jogen the spiritualist. 2 cards, if u dont happen to have a seven tools of the bandit or something, its game. oh and yugioh is 25% luck, 25% deck build compared to the foes and 50% skill. except in cookiecutter decks which is 100%deckbuild cause it takes no skill or luck to win withh them...lightsworn...gladiator beast....
