Synchro Material

English

Synchro Material
Formerly: Synchro Material Monster

Synchro Materials (Japanese: シンクロ () (ざい) Shinkuro Sozai; usually abbreviated (シンクロ) () (ざい) since Code of the Duelist), formerly referred to as Synchro Material Monsters, are monsters used for the Synchro Summon of a Synchro Monster.

When performing a Synchro Summon, all of the Synchro Materials used for that Synchro Summon are sent to the Graveyard by game mechanics before the Synchro Monster is Synchro Summoned. At least one of the Synchro Materials must be a Tuner monster.

Monsters that do not have Levels, such as Xyz Monsters and Link Monsters, cannot be used as Synchro Materials. Token Monsters, Trap Monsters, and pseudo-Trap Monsters can be used as Synchro Materials.

Some Synchro Monsters require their Synchro Materials to have specific properties. If the Synchro Monster requires Synchro Materials of a specific Attribute (like "Hydro Genex"), a monster with multiple Attributes (such as "Elemental Mistress Doriado") can be used as such a Synchro Material.
