5D's is set in the futuristic Domino City. The city is divided into the upperclass "utopia" New Domino City and the isolated poverty-stricken Satellite island. Duel Monsters is now played on motorbike-like vecicles, known as Duel Runners.

The protagonist Yusei Fudo finds himself battling the class system and the law in the hopes of retreving "bonds" that were important to him and his friends. Yusei and the people he encounters end-up reliving an Ancient Incan battle, involving the prophesied Signers, their anit-thesis the Dark Signers and the mysterious organization Yliaster.

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's has an anime series, a manga, a number of video games and various Trading Card Game sets based on it.
