Hirutani, known as Diesel Kane in the English version of the Dungeon Dice Monsters video game, is a leader of a gang of teenage thugs from Rintama High School that wield super-powered yo-yos.
Hirutani tries to force Jonouchi into his gang by any means necessary. The name, Diesel Kane, stems from a gang member character in West Side Story named "Diesel."

[edit] Manga biography
[edit] Middle school
During middle school, Hirutani hung out with Katsuya Jonouchi and Hiroto Honda. They were all part of a gang, who would spend their time picking fights. Unhappy with how the gang targeted weaker individuals, Honda and Jonouchi left.
After Middle school, Hirutani went to Rintama High School.
[edit] The Wild Gang
Hirutani now with the gang full of Rintama High School students, forces Jonouchi, ho now attends Domino High, to join his gang by threatening to beat up his entire class.
After Jonouchi picks a fight in J'z, with the rest of the ganga for hitting Yugi, Hirutani has Jonouchi taken to their torture chamber where he is beaten-up and shocked with a stun gun.
Dark Yugi comes to rescue Jonouchi and tricks Hirutani and his thugs into standing in a puddle of water while a stun gun is lowered into it from the knocked-out thug. Yugi was standing on a tire while the thugs were electrocuted. Yugi managed to rescue Jonouchi.
[edit] Jonouchi! Soul Battle!!
Hirutani uses Nezumi to lure Yugi and Jonouchi to the torture chamber. He then has his thugs try to get Jonouchi to join by slowly strangling Yugi by pulling a hook upwards to strangle him with his Millennium Puzzle.
After saving Yugi, Jonouchi and Hirutani engage in a fistfight. Jonouchi punches Hirutani in the face, but Hirutani then throws glass in Jonouchi's eyes. Hirutani tries to place a shard of glass in the back of Jonouchi's neck. However Jonouchi detects Hirutani's location as he steps on broken glass. Jonouchi punches him off the roof. Hirutani grabs onto a ledge, but Jonouchi uses his yo-yo to hit Hirutani's fingers, causing the gangster to fall to the ground.
[edit] Anime biography
The Toei anime uses the plot structure of a previous chapter combined with the yo-yo games of the second set of chapters where Hirutani is found for the sole Hirutani episode.
Many events were the same as the first manga appearance, up to Yugi, Honda and Anzu searching for Jonouchi after the gang went to J'z. Honda and Yugi confronted Hirutani. However Hirutani's spiked yo-yo, easily tore apart Honda's brush and struck both boys down
