Hmm... I've done Fortune Ladies, so what's next? Of course - Spiders! Good ol' Rudger's (DAMNYOU4KIDS, IT'S RUDGER, NOT ROMAN!) favorite archetype is here to show you what's what.


Yeah, it's basically about switching your opponent's monsters into DEF position. The first monster pick is Ehren, Lightsworn Monk. Odd? Perhaps, but she can take advantage of the opponent's DEF monsters, and mills the deck, which is important; many of the Spiders' best effects come from milling. Magical Merchant is an insect and mills the deck heavily. Plaguespreader benefits from a milled deck as well. Then, Jutte Fighter switches my opponent's monsters into DEF position and acts as a tuner. Then come the spiders: Spyder Spider (bad pun, Konami; bad pun) searches and swarms the field. Mother Spider clears out my opponent's field when it's special summoned, probably clearing the way for a special summon. Sacrifice Spider can literally clear my opponent's field out. Finally, Ground Spider can block attacks and such, so it's a good pick. Oh, and another 3 non-Spiders; Sasuke also takes advantage of DEF-position monsters and acts as a beatstick, while Black Shining G is anti-Synchro tech.

For spells, Enemy Controller comes first, being able to block attacks and steal my opponent's monsters. Rudger would be proud. Spider Web Field gives all of my opponent's monsters the bad part of Goblin Attack Force's effect; it's a great slowdown card. Reinforcement of the Army searches Ehren, Jutte and Sasuke as needed. Worm Bait works as a great blocker. Foolish Burial is very selective milling. Soul Release can mess up my opponent's DARK count for DAD (I've played against Blackwings packing it); screw up the Lightsworn count for Judgment Dragon; and so on. It's a great tech card, but why is it here? Mother Spider doesn't work with non-Insects in the graveyard, so getting them out of the way is a good idea. Then, the staples; Monster Reborn, Trunade, MST, and Brain Control.

For traps, Security Orb is attack blocking that the opponent will think twice before getting rid of, due to its effect. Mirror Force can stop a swarm of attacks, but the way this deck is built means that Dark Mirror Force might catch as many monsters - especially if I chain Enemy Controller or Ground Spider's effect to it. Waboku can slow my opponent down and works in the face of Honest and Kalut (good times; baiting out a Kalut and using Waboku to render it useless). Dark Bribe is negation. Book of Eclipse not only switches ALL to defense, but also mills your opponents. Book of Moon is essentially the same, but it can also prevent other effects that affect faceup monsters as well.

The Synchros come in because of 3 tuners, though I'm not so sure how many I'll be able to bring out... Well, anyways, tell me what you think of this concept deck. Runer5h 03:27, 29 July 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Hmm, maybe Pot of Avarice? Only one though, since you only have 4 non-insects. It would make sure you can always special summon Mother Spider. Just a suggestion.--Akiza'sRose66 16:59, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Just thinking of some ideas, but perhaps you can add Tragedy in your deck? It chains well with Spider Web Field and it destroys all of the opponent's monsters, regardless of their battle position. Also, Verdant Sanctuary can penalize your opponent more with the field spell by providing hand advantage just in case your opponent's atk makes through. I'm not an expert with Insect decks, though, so I can only hope this helps. Swaggs 01:45, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Just a thought but what about Earthquake?

Was having a look at this, pretty nicely done, and thought, No Entry!!, can be chained to dark mirror force to remove all monsters, and also to get your Ground Spider into def as well Resk 15:13, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

I should have remembered No Entry myself! Thanks! Well, I'm taking out a Waboku and a Security Orb for 2 No Entries (they make useful blockers) and I'm switching out Trunade for another Dark Mirror Force - with No Entry I should be able to score multiple removals with it more often. i run a spider deck as well, i highly suggest investing in Shield Crush, it's very useful especially when your apponent has a card you can't combat with. I suggest maybe an Earthbound Immortal Uru its a nice "Screw You" card. I also run stumbling and D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation, so when you are removing monsters from play to negate attacks you can bring them back. I considered using Return From a Different Dimension, though it may not be worth it? Another possibility would be Saber Beetle, I have found it useful while my opponents are in DEF. --Timmy2toes 06:46, December 10, 2009 (UTC)

Add Insect Neglect and more insects to protect your Spiders.
