"Naturias" were introduced in Duel Terminal sets and came to the TCG in Hidden Arsenal 2. They are focused on countering and responding to Spells, Traps, Summons, and effects. Most of the monsters are weaker or too costly to be useful, but a few of them are good for real lockdowns. All "Naturia" monsters are EARTH and are Insect-Type, Plant-Type, Rock-Type, with three Beast-Type monsters (two Fusion Monsters and one Synchro Monster) and one Dragon-Type monster (one Synchro Monster). All "Naturia" Synchro Monsters require EARTH Tuners and non-Tuners.
Pros and Cons
Naturia monsters have negation ability: Many of the more important "Naturia" monsters can negate other cards.
Naturia monsters have many Special Summoning abilities: Many "Naturia" monsters can Special Summon themselves.
Naturia monsters have many types: There are so many different types among "Naturia" monsters that a pure deck can't make use of much Type based support.
Naturia monsters are weak: There are a few decent "Naturia" beasticks but almost every non-Synchro Monster is quite weak.
Naturia Antjaw: When your opponent Special Summons a monster while you control "Naturia Antjaw" you can Special Summon another monster from your deck. However, as "Naturia Antjaw" only has 400 ATK and 200 DEF, it's not likely to remain on the field for its effect to activate.
Naturia Bamboo Shoot: "Naturia Bamboo Shoot" is one of the best lockdown monsters in the game-it's a Level 5 monster with 2000 ATK and when it's Tribute Summoned by tributing a "Naturia" monster, your opponent will then be unable to activate any Spell or Trap cards. This pretty much means that the only way to get it off the field would be to either negate its Summon or destroy it in battle or remove it by Monster Effects.
Naturia Beans: Once per turn, "Naturia Beans" can't be destroyed by battle. In addition to this, your opponent takes 500 points of damage when it attacks "Naturia Beans". Note that the burn effect will only activate during the Battle Step, so Naturia Beans will not inflict damage if attacked while face-down.
Naturia Beetle: "Naturia Beetle" has 400 ATK and 1800 DEF but his original ATK and DEF are switched whenever a Spell Card is activated. This is pretty useless as the ATK/DEF switch is automatic, and the opponent can manipulate its stats to its most vulnerable state before attacking it.
Naturia Butterfly: "Naturia Butterfly" is a Level 3 Tuner monster with 500 ATK and 1200 DEF. In addition to that, you can send the top card of your Deck to your Graveyard to negate one attack per turn.
Naturia Cherries: When "Naturia Cherries" is destroyed by your opponent's card, you can Special Summon up to two more from your Deck in face-down Defense Position. This lets you set up any Tribute fodder for, say "Naturia Bamboo Shoot", or even an elaborate Synchro Summon, since this card is a Level 1 Tuner monster.
Naturia Cliff: When "Naturia Cliff" is sent from your field to your Graveyard you can Special Summon a "Naturia" monster with 1500 or less ATK from your deck in any face-up position. With the relatively low ATK scores of many "Naturia" monsters, it makes "Naturia Cliff" an excellent searcher that triggers even if sent to the Graveyard by card effects. Unfortunately, this misses the timing for Synchro Summons.
Naturia Cosmobeet: When your opponent Normal Summons or Sets a monster you can Special Summon it from your hand. It's also a Level 2 Tuner monster. Because it can pop out on the field even as early as on the opponent's turn 1, it adds some speed to the Deck in setting up a Synchro Summon from a position where your opponent can't attack yet.
Naturia Dragonfly: "Naturia Dragonfly" has a base ATK of 1200 but gains 200 more for each "Naturia" monster in your Graveyard. In addition to that, it can't be destroyed by battle by a monster with 2000 or more ATK.
Naturia Eggplant: When "Naturia Eggplant" is sent from your field to your Graveyard you can add any "Naturia" monster except "Naturia Eggplant" from your Graveyard to your hand. Unfortunately, this misses the timing for Synchro Summons.
Naturia Fruitfly: "Naturia Fruitfly" makes your opponent's monsters lose 300 ATK and DEF per "Naturia" monster you control. It has a low ATK and DEF, with only 800 and 1500, respectively. It also allows you to take control of one monster your opponent controls with 0 DEF until the End Phase of their turn, once per turn.
Naturia Guardian: "Naturia Guardian" has a base ATK of 1600 but gains 300 ATK until the End Phase of the turn whenever your opponent Normal Summons a monster.
Naturia Horneedle: "Naturia Horneedle" is one of the stronger "Naturia" monsters, with 1800 ATK. It also has a great effect-whenever your opponent Special Summons a monster you can tribute any other "Naturia" monster you control to destroy the Special Summoned monster.
Naturia Hydrangea: "Naturia Hydrangea" has low stats for a Level 5 monster-1900 ATK and 2000 DEF. Its effect allows you to Special Summon it from your hand if a "Naturia" monster's effect was activated that turn.
Naturia Ladybug: When you Synchro Summon a "Naturia" Synchro Monster you can Special Summon "Naturia Ladybug" from your Graveyard. You can tribute it to give a "Naturia" monster you control 1000 more ATK points until the End Phase of the turn.
Naturia Mantis: "Naturia Mantis" has 1700 ATK and whenever your opponent Normal Summons a monster you can send a "Naturia" monster you control to your Graveyard to destroy the summoned monster.
Naturia Maron: When "Naturia Marron" is Normal Summoned you can send one "Naturia" monster from your Deck to your Graveyard. Once per turn, you can return two "Naturia" monsters from your Graveyard to your Deck to draw a card.
Naturia Mosquito: Your opponent cannot select "Naturia Mosquito" as an attack target while you control another "Naturia" monster. It also causes your opponent to take damage from battles involving "Naturia" monsters you control.
Naturia Pineapple: "Naturia Pineapple" turns all your monsters into Plant-Type monsters. Also, during your Standby Phase, you can Special Summon "Naturia Pineapple" from your Graveyard as long as you don't control any Spell or Trap Cards or "Naturia Pineapple" and there aren't any monsters in your Graveyard that aren't Plant-Type or Beast-Type.
Naturia Pumpkin: When you Normal Summon "Naturia Pumpkin" your can Special Summon a "Naturia" monster from your hand if your opponent controls a monster. This allows you to set up Synchro/Xyz Summons to either put pressure on the opponent or turn the tables.
Naturia Ragweed: When your opponent draws outside of their Draw Phase you can send "Naturia Ragweed" from your hand to your Graveyard to draw two cards. It also has 2000 DEF. However, the fact that "Naturia Ragweed" needs to be face-up on the field to even get its effect to work means that your opponent can see its effect coming and hold off on their draw effects until "Naturia Ragweed" has left the field.
Naturia Rock: When a Trap Card is activated you can send the top card of your Deck to your Graveyard to Special Summon "Naturia Rock" from your hand.
Naturia Rosewhip: "Naturia Rosewhip" is a Level 3 Tuner monster that prevents your opponent from activating more than one Spell or Trap Card per turn.
Naturia Spiderfang: "Naturia Spiderfang" has one of the highest original ATK scores of any Level 4 monster-2100. Its only side effect is that it can't attack unless your opponent has activated a Spell Card, Trap Card, or Effect Monster.
Naturia Stag Beetle: "Naturia Stag Beetle" is a Level 6 monster with 2200 ATK. When it attacks, during the Damage Step or while it's attacking, if your opponent activates a card effect, you can Special Summon a "Naturia" monster in your Graveyard.
Naturia Stinkbug: "Naturia Stinkbug" is a Level 3 Tuner monster. When a "Naturia" monster you control is attacked you can send "Naturia Stinkbug" from your field to your Graveyard to negate the attack and end the Battle Phase.
Naturia Strawberry: "Naturia Strawberry" has 1600 ATK and can gain ATK equal to the Level of one monster summoned by your opponent that turn times 100.
Naturia Sunflower: You can tribute "Naturia Sunflower" and another "Naturia" monster to negate the activation of an Effect Monster's effect and destroy it.
Naturia Tulip: Each time your opponent activates a Spell or Trap Card your "Naturia" monsters gain 500 ATK until the End Phase of the turn. It is also a Level 1 Tuner monster.
Naturia Vein: You can tribute "Naturia Vein" and another "Naturia" monster to negate the activation of a Spell or Trap Card and destroy it. It is also a Level 1 Tuner monster.
Naturia White Oak: When "Naturia White Oak" is targeted by your opponent's card effect you can send it to your Graveyard to Special Summon two Level 4 or lower "Naturia" monsters from your deck. They can't attack and are destroyed during your End Phase.
Extra Deck Monsters
Take note that all "Naturia" Synchro monsters require all their materials to be EARTH. This also means they can be splashed into the right Decks.
Naturia Barkion: "Naturia Barkion" is a Level 6 Synchro Monster with 2500 ATK that can negate the activation of a Trap Card and destroy it by Banishing two cards in your Graveyard. This makes it more useful mid-to-late game where one's Graveyard tends have more cards to fuel its effect, and unless something like "Macro Cosmos" is present, "Naturia Barkion" can practically laugh off a "Bottomless Trap Hole" since the mere act of attempting to Synchro Summon sets up enough cards in the Graveyard.
Naturia Beast: "Naturia Beast" is a Level 5 Synchro Monster with 2200 ATK that can negate the activation of a Spell Card and destroy it by sending the top two cards of your Deck to your Graveyard. It's generally considered to be the best of the "Naturia" Synchros because it has unlimited Spell card negation for a negligible cost - 2 cards from the Deck is nothing serious unless you're on the verge of Deck Out, and the "Lightsworn" archetype has managed to get around despite having much stronger self-milling.
Naturia Exterio: "Naturia Extrio" is the "Naturia" boss monster and a Fusion of "Naturia Beast" and "Naturia Barkion". It has 2800 ATK and can negate the activation of a Spell or Trap Card and destroy it by sending the top card of your Deck to your Graveyard then Banishing one card in your Graveyard. Its effect is pretty much "Naturia Beast"'s and "Naturia Barkion"'s effects fused together with their costs reduced, but the act of bringing Exterio out on the field is tedious. Just summoning it takes at least 5 cards in total - 2 for each Synchro Monster, and one more for "Polymerization" or its cousins, and you can't shortcut your way to it via Fusion substitutes. "Miracle Synchro Fusion" would be your best bet in bringing out "Naturia Exterio", as you can't always count on both its material sitting on your field.
Naturia Landoise: "Naturia Landoise" is a Level 7 Synchro Monster with 2350 ATK. By sending a Spell Card from your hand to your Graveyard you can negate the activation of an Effect Monster's effect and destroy it. With a subpar ATK that is exceeded by "Naturia Barkion", it's not as widely used, and if you're going to use up an important Spell to stop a monster effect, make sure that effect negation is worth it.
Naturia Leodrake: "Naturia Leodrake" has 3000 ATK and no effect. It also stands at LV9, but take note that unlike other LV9 Synchro monsters which require at least 2 non-Tuners, "Naturia Leodrake" only requires at least one EARTH non-Tuner instead.
Barkion's Bark: "Barkion's Bark" prevents your opponent from activating Trap Cards for a turn but you have to control a "Naturia" monster to use it.
Landoise's Luminous Moss: "Landoise's Luminous Moss" prevents your opponent from activating Effect Monster's effects for a turn but you have to control a "Naturia" monster to use it.
Leodrake's Mane: "Leodrake's Mane" changes the ATK of a "Naturia" monster you control to 3000 until the End Phase but negates its effect.
Naturia Forest: "Naturia Forest" is a Field Spell Card that adds a Level 3 or lower "Naturia" monster from your Deck to your hand when you negate the activation of your opponent's card.
Exterio's Fang: "Exterio's Fang" is a Counter Trap Card that allows you to negate the activation of a Spell or Trap Card by sending a card from your hand to your Graveyard and you have to control a "Naturia" monster to activate its effect.
Arcane Archer of the Forest: It's an EARTH monster to it can be used in "Naturia" Synchro Summons. It can't be attacked while you control another Plant-Type monster (as many "Naturia" monsters are) and once per turn you can tribute a Plant-Type monster to destroy a Spell or Trap Card on the field.
Bird of Roses: When "Bird of Roses" is attacked while in face-up Attack Position and destroyed by battle you can Special Summon two Plant-Type Tuner monsters from your deck in Defense Position.
Blue Rose Dragon: "Blue Rose Dragon" can Special Summon a Plant-Type monster in your Graveyard when it is destroyed and sent to your Graveyard.
Botanical Girl: "Botanical Girl" allows you to add a Plant-Type monster with 1000 or less DEF from your Deck to your hand when it is sent from your field to your Graveyard.
Cactus Bouncer: "Cactus Bouncer" has 1800 ATK and prevents Special Summons while you control another Plant-Type monster.
Danipon: When "Danipon" is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard you can add one Insect-Type monster with 1000 or less DEF from your Deck to your hand.
Gigaplant: "Gigaplant" is a tribute monster with 2400 ATK. It has a powerful effect-once per turn, you can Special Summon a Plant-Type or Insect-Type monster from your hand or Graveyard with the downside that "Gigaplant" must be re-summoned since it's a Gemini monster. It can be used with the lockdown "Naturia" monsters and "Naturia Forest" to regain all of your lockdown "Naturia" monsters each turn.
Gokipon: When "Gokipon" is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard you can add one Insect-Type monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck to your hand.
King Tiger Wanghu: "Wanghu" destroys all monsters with 1400 or less ATK that are Normal Summoned or Special Summoned. When combined with "Bamboo Shoot" and "Burden of the Mighty" this combo is almost unstoppable.
Lonefire Blossom: "Lonefire Blossom" can tribute any Plant-Type monster once per turn to Special Summon another Plant-Type monster from your deck.
Reborn Tengu: "Reborn Tengu" maintains advantage and makes up for the loss of advantage in some "Naturia" decks.
Snyffus: "Snyffus" only has 100 ATK but it can be used with "Naturia Pineapple" ("Pineapple" providing fodder) to destroy your opponent's Spell and Trap Cards.
Spore: By Banishing another Plant-Type monster in your Graveyard you can Special Summon "Spore" from your Graveyard and it gains Levels equal to the Banished monster's Level. It is also a Tuner monster.
Violet Witch: When "Violet Witch" is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard you can add one Plant-Type monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck to your hand.
Forbidden Chalice: Negates the effects of "Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter" and other monsters that can stop the lockdowns. It also can be used to power up your "Naturia" monsters if necessary.
Forbidden Lance: Can be used to weaken monsters in "Naturia" lockdown decks or protect your "Naturia Beast" and "Naturia Bamboo Shoot".
Mark of the Rose: By Banishing a Plant-Type monster you can take control of one of your opponent's monsters until the End Phase of the turn (to be used in a Synchro Summon).
Spiritual Forest: Once per turn, if a Beast-Type, Beast Warrior-Type, or Plant-Type monster you control would be destroyed by battle it is not destroyed.
Supervise: This Equip Spell Card gives your Gemini Monsters their effects ("Gigaplant").
Horn of the Phantom Beast: In "Naturia Beast"-based decks this card will give you draw power and make your "Naturia Beast" have 3000 ATK.
Pollinosis: By tributing a Plant-Type monster you can negate the activation of a Spell or Trap Card or the summon of a monster.
Royal Decree: "Royal Decree" can be combined with "Naturia Beast" to stop all of your opponent's Spell and Trap Cards.
Safe Zone: Protects "Naturia Bamboo Shoot" and "Naturia Beast".
This deck uses "Naturia Mosquito" to damage your opponent while attacking them with "Naturia Beans".
