Hi, my name's Tony and these are the cards in my construction build of a Dark Magician beatdown deck but I need help in building the deck since I never made a deck type like this before and I've been into Yugioh since my childhood so if anyone can help me it's much appreciated. --Unknownmystery47 (talkcontribs) 14:51, June 29, 2016 (UTC)

First off, I'll point out that this includes some cards that are currently OCG only (those will be printed in bold text to differentiate them from cards already in the TCG) because I built this deck in YGOPro so you may not be able to build it right away until all of these cards are released in the TCG.
I'll explain a few my choices here, too. "Dwarf Star Dragon Planeter", as well as "Magical Contract Door", together search a total of 8 monsters in your deck. "Dwarf Star Dragon Planeter" searches the level 7s (there are six targets in the dark: 3 "Dark Magicians" and 3 "Mahad the Protector Priests", even if you'd rather draw him) whereas Magical Contract Door can search them as well as search "Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning" and "Dark Magician of Chaos" (which can also be searched by "Dedication through Light and Darkness"). The two copies of "Dwarf Star Dragon Planeter" would also give "Dark Paladin" an extra 1000 ATK if you decide to use "The Eye of Timaeus" to Summon him. I also included "Gilasaurus" as an alternative to "The Tricky" as it can be searched with "Fossil Dig", whereas I cannot name any simple cards that can search "The Tricky" right now. Plus "Gilasaurus" doesn't cost you a card in your hand to summon it.
"Eternal Soul" also adds consistency, but searching "Dark Magic Attack" and being able to Special Summon "Dark Magician" from your hand or Graveyard once per turn. This works especially well with using "Dark Magic Veil" to Special Summon "Dark Magician" once, then using Dedication through Light and Darkness" to Special Summon "Dark Magician of Chaos". "Eternal Soul" can then be used to Special Summon the "Dark Magician" you just Tributed for "Dedication through Light and Darkness" again. "Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon" is in the Extra Deck because it provides some comfort if you are using "Eternal Soul" and it leaves the field. "Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon" won't be destroyed by "Eternal Soul's" last effect as long as he has Xyz Material, and he also provides some burn damage to really put the pressure on your opponent (again, since card effects can't destroy it while it has Xyz Material).
As for your current deck, the first change I would make is replace "Dark Hole" and "Lightning Vortex" with "Raigeki". Destroying only face-up monsters isn't that great, hence why my deck doesn't include "Lightning Vortex" or "Dark Burning Attack". "Dark Hole" isn't that great either in my opinion, unless in a "Blue-Eyes" or "Synchron" Deck because "Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon" or "Stardust Sifr Divine Dragon" would save your monsters from being destroyed by "Dark Hole". Otherwise, I recommend "Raigeki" over anything else.--Cyber Dragon (Talk) (Contributions) 17:33, June 29, 2016 (UTC)
What other cards should I take out? I have Royal decree for a possible lockdown tactic for once I obtain several copies of Secret village of the spellcasters which may also work well with combining Secret sanctuary of the spellcasters. --Unknownmystery47 (talkcontribs) 18:16, June 29, 2016 (UTC)
Well, I would recommend something like what I posted as far as card options go. But as far Royal Decree, I wouldn't include it because it would negate your Eternal Soul, which is pretty much the key card to any Dark Magician Deck. Other than that, I couldn't find room for Royal Decree while staying at 40 cards in the main deck. Royal Decree would help, however, if your opponent tries to destroy Eternal Soul, if you chain Royal Decree to your opponent's card that would destroy Eternal Soul, because if Eternal Soul's effects on the field are negated, it's last effect that would destroy your monsters when it leaves the field won't activate.--Cyber Dragon (Talk) (Contributions) 21:44, June 29, 2016 (UTC)
