Ahh..... Exodia. Every duelist knows his legendary power, even novice duelists. Collect all 5 pieces in the hand, and collect an instant win, right? A deck based around this ancient card usually relies on a LOT of drawpower, and search power. Recently, I was thinking of a way to splash The Forbidden One into a new deck, and I remembered my old Crystal Beasts. They carried a LOT of draw and search power, and I was even able to deck myself out in some situations, while digging through my deck for Rainbow Dragon. I think you can see where I'm going with this.... May I present: Crystal Exodia!!!

The deck's main strategy, is to use the draw power of the Crystal Beasts, such as Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins, Rare Value, and abusing the Search power of Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus. This should help me thin my deck down to enough cards to draw the Exodia pieces, or search them through Sangan or Emissary. This deck also has an extreme element of suprise, as you may guess.

Here's the monster line-up. All 5 pieces of Exodia strive for my instant victory, and the Crystal Beast line-up is as follows: Sapphire Pegasus is my main searcher, since he gives me card advantage, plus searches my deck out. I chose Amber Mammoth over Topaz Tiger, since the Crystals are mainly used as a defensive wall, not as beatsticks. 3 Ruby Carbuncles ensure that my front row is always full, and she can help bring out my Pegasi, swarming for more card advantage and less cards in my deck. Emerald Tortase and Amethyst Cat fill out the Crystal line-up, mainly since Cobalt Eagle would be a very bad idea. To finish up the monsters, Sangan and Emissary can search Exodia pieces FAST.

Spells: Ancient City is one of my favorite Field Spells ever, since it can self-protect, cut Battle Damage, control Spell/Trap usage, draw free cards, AND Special Summon free monsters. It's here mainly for the free draws though. That's why I run 3 Blessings, to fill up my back row fast and quick. Beacon is another favorite of mine, usually searching Pegasus for another free Crystal. Promise moves up Pegasus or Ruby, and Rare Value is a true gem, since it's this deck's Pot of Greed. Upstart Goblin is a staple in most Exodia decks, and Dark Eruption is used to bring back pieces and Sangan.

Since this more of a "stall" Exodia deck than a "turbo", I figured I could use a few Traps. Threatening Roar stops those OTK situations when I don't have a gem army. Torrential Tribute works the same way, also moving all of my priceless gems into the back row. The last Trap I think I can afford to drop if necessary, it's mainly used to go for an OTK with a couple Rare Values, or to abuse one or two of Rainbow Ruins' effects.

I would love suggestions on this deck, since I actually have pretty much all of the cards already. --Black Rose 01:03, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

Ancient City

If you love ancient city rainbow ruin you should consier using brionac to perform the unlimited deck draw combo hes is a six star so he is a fairly easy synchro to get out epecially with the swarming capabilities of crystal beast for more info check out brionac's tip page i run that one myself and you can meet the requirements a lot more often than you would believe Aacaban 16:41, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

I could do that, but I don't really want to spend any time gathering Tuners. I think I have enough search power to rely on instead of hoping to draw a Tuner to Synchro Summon with. I would rather keep this Synchro-free. Any other suggestions?--Black Rose 01:48, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

I replaced Crystal Counter with Backup Soldier, to bring back the Exodia pieces to my hand. Any other suggestions are welcome!--Akiza Izayoi 18:50, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
