Hi guys and gals. Just a thought from me. How about adding a "Currently Banned" switch that would flag all the Card pages and Card Tip pages of cards that are, of course, currently banned? I'm thinking red letters on top of the Card Tips pages, and an indicator on the Card pages themselves, but that's just me.

If you don't mind a little more work, you could even turn it into a toggle and show 'Currently Banned', 'Currently Limited', and 'Currently Semi-limited'.

I know this is more work, but it would be really convenient for those of us who can't keep those entire lists straight in our heads, as well as any newbies comming around (we wouldn't have to flip back to the Banned listting all the time). Plus, it would be faster than going through and hard-coding all that information on the Card Tips pages, only to have to remove or change it once the new Banned lists come out.

Think about it, huh? Thanks for listening. --Kungfu-mama (talkcontribs) 13:31, September 7, 2011 (UTC)

I don't think that is necessary; but if it were to be done, a SMW query in the navigation template would easily automatically add that line to Forbidden/Limited/Semi cards. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 13:39, September 7, 2011 (UTC)

Meaning no disrespect, but I think your viewpoint is subjective since you're looking at this request through the lens of having been a very active Yugioh player/participant for a few years. For people like me (and there are more than you think) who are off-again/on-again, and for the younger kids and noobs, adding an indicator of this nature to the two types of pages I suggested above can only be very helpful. Plus it adds another level of cool convenience to your wikia.

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of this suggestion. --Kungfu-mama (talkcontribs) 14:47, September 8, 2011 (UTC)

How about a colored flag means this:

Red:Banned

Orange:Limited

Yellow:Semi-Limited

Green:Unlimited

good idea Time Waits for Nobody! but me! 14:52, September 8, 2011 (UTC)

Sounds like these colours...
I meant, not necessary imo as there are lots of places for you to see it.
You could always refer to the lists.
Or on the card page, if you scroll down, there's a box that says something like: TCG/OCG Statuses - OCG Forbidden - TCG Advanced Forbidden - TCG Traditional Limited.

Okay, but that doesn't address the "Cards Tips" page, does it? And flipping back and forth from the lists to whatever you might be researching is clumsy.--Kungfu-mama (talkcontribs) 20:30, September 9, 2011 (UTC)

Hmm. What About Something Like This.
It Still Has Some Kinks, But Would that work? K.O. (talkcontribs) 17:12, September 11, 2011 (UTC)
Do not commandeer random templates for stuff like this. Your edit to {{Forbidden}} completely screwed the table on Historic Forbidden/Limited Chart. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 17:54, September 11, 2011 (UTC)

Don't know what that was all about, but, hey, okay. I'd like to make one last point. While you are correct that there is a TCG/OCG Status area (ok, I admit it, I did not see it), I'd like to point out that it is pretty far down the page. In fact, when you bring up a Card page, you don't even see it unless you happen to scroll down (at least I don't see it in MY browser).

Seems to me that, as a duelist, there are 5 things I want to immediately know about a card -

  • Its Attribute
  • Its Type
  • Its Level/Rank
  • Its Lore/Effect
  • How many I can run (if any at all)

So, please consider moving your TCG/OCG status area up. I think it'd be most helpful placed even before the TCG set(s) area, but that would mean reconfiguring your display box.

Don't mean to be a trouble maker. I'm pretty familiar with QA testing and user-friendly page guidelines, so this stuff is in my nature. Thanks for considering my request. --Kungfu-mama (talkcontribs) 14:15, September 12, 2011 (UTC)
