I heard someone say that their deck will be a "Tier Zero" deck in march... I lol'd Tier Zero would be the end to all decks, if someone could make a deck that great, Yu-Gi-Oh! would be over. Discuss this theoretical tier. This would be an insanely flawless deck, I can't even imagine the card combinations you would need to pull this off. I just wanted to share this ridiculous piece of information with you all. I want to know what you all think.

This, in short, is the definition of T.S. Thorsett's Infernity deck. It has 3 smashing grounds, 3 sakuretsu armours, 3 dimensional prisons, plus all of the standards such as 2 bottomless trap holes, mirrorforce, torrential tribute, dark hole, etc.

Some believe that...

  • Having a Tier Zero deck means you're so full of yourself that you're blinded by your ego. The only way Tier Zero decks lose is if they had a "Bad Hand" or the opponent "Luck-sacked" into a win. They are afraid to admit that they were straight up outplayed when they lose. I'm not saying that it's a bad deck, but it's pretty ridiculous to think that there is a deck above Tier 1. I advise you defeat this person with a rogue deck and tell them to get off their high horse =P. -- Sub 15:42, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

But YOU Know . . .

Sub always know what to say to things like this lol. Totally agree dude TheDivineDuelist 02:16, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

What is a tier zero? Some sort off ultra broken deck?

Sub is right...

Whoever had the balls to make this claim is an idiot. Every Deck has a flaw, so there will never be a Tier Zero, or perfect Deck. There is no perfect Deck. Plain & simple.

E-Dizzle 22:22, 23 February 2009 (UTC) Tier 0 decks is not possible unless you put unlimited amount of banned cards into the deck. Then it might work. But even so, it will not win every single duel.

Even if such a deck existed, Konami's banlist would kill it. Like they killed Tele-DAD and Synchro Cat when they were seemingly unbeatable. Runer5h 02:17, December 7, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

what if it was such a perfect deck, there was not a real way to kill it via banlist since it would also kill all other decks? HouseholdCatDeity 04:31, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

  • I see a problem here. The way Konami's been acting on the thematic support, there's a way where a Deck can consist of almost no "splashable" cards which will work consistently in other Decks. This way, they can look at and attack certain Decktypes without causing extreme collateral damage. --Gadjiltron 14:05, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

Indeed, Runer is correct. If there was such a deck, the Forbidden list would step in in a matter of months.--Akiza Izayoi 12:53, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

Tier Zero =...

... No banlist Exchange FTK. --Reimu-H 13:09, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

also could be exodia ftk Killbolt 14:13, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

Hey, a true blue tier-zero deck would be:

  • A deck with 5 cards.
  • Missing the timing ruling does not applies to Poison Draw Frog.
  • Summoning condition are applied as effects and can be negated by [[Skill Drain]

--Flushy 03:40, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

Even if a tier zero deck was made of a lot of super powerful cards, alot of common staples could easilly take it on trunade, starlight road, bottomless... everything has a weaknessKazisaki (talkcontribs) 19:41, December 29, 2010 (UTC)

The only way you can make a Tier 0 Deck is to somehow get all the pieces of Exodia and make a 5-card deck with just them. IMPOSSIBLE! MachinaMan (talkcontribs) 02:43, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

Actually. you would need a 6 card deck because you would deck out if you went first. ShortCircuitFTW (talkcontribs) 12:58, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

Actually no you wouldn't. As soon as you have the five assembled pieces of Exodia you win. Its a continuous effect. It activates as soon as all the pieces sit in your hand. Anyway: Tier 0 is a deck that is completely unmatched against all other decks, and is able to dominate the format. See Tele-DAD. A deck that can achieve its win condition easily and quickly, with little or no possible ways to stop it. IonCharge (talkcontribs) 15:53, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

except that teledad is kinda dead, and its actually pretty easy to beatKazisaki (talkcontribs) 19:18, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

I meant the Tele-DAD format. Then it was pretty much "Play Tele-DAD or lose". The point still stands, Tier 0 is a deck that can easily pull off its win condition with little hindrance. IonCharge (talkcontribs) 19:20, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

I'd define "Tier Zero" as a deck that is (in this format) overwhelmingly likely to win against any match-up presented to it, including itself. And I believe five-deck-Exodia can be countered by Hand Destruction if their opponent goes first. Not sure on that, though.AllanAokage (talkcontribs) 20:37, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

Exodia cannot be stopped if they are only five cards in your opponents deck at the start of the duel. Period. It is a continuous win condition. If you flip Morphing Jar and your opponent has five cards which are exodia, as soon as morphing jars effect resolves, the Exodia player wins. Exodia is like that, it can even win in mid-chain. You just can't stop Exodia if they have a 5 card deck. Its like playing Transmigration Prophecy after you've attempted to draw from an empty deck. You've already lost.

Now, enough about Exodia and people with 5 card decks >_< IonCharge (talkcontribs) 02:28, January 1, 2011 (UTC)

Exodia FTK is Tier Zero. You'll be watching your opponent play solitaire on his turn by drawing until he gets all five pieces of Exodia. It's a controlled loop so it's not banned either. It's a frowned upon deck-type that local tournament don't usually allow. Most people just use it for the lolz.Skyhound (talkcontribs) 20:00, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

darn it all

That last thing that was just said about the exodia deck is almost exactly what i was gonna say. my friend made a deck where all the cards in it say to draw cards and one card called "exchange of the spirit" which is banned of course. he laughed when he used it and i told him i could make a legal one. instead of using "exchange of the spirit" i used the five pieces of exodia.

In my(humble but hopefully meaningful) opinion, even the perfect deck is not perfect, thats why they call it "the beauty of imperfection" --Ra9una (talkcontribs) 05:51, January 11, 2011 (UTC)ra9una

Tier Zero does not exist. Not even some famous examples we all know. Every deck has a weakness, because every deck is made of cards, and every card has a weakness. And all decks have the same weakness to one degree or another: s***ty opening hands. Every decks has them. Some more than others. But basically, nothing is unbeatable.
