The Fortune Tour was a series of major tournaments that existed in Europe and Australia in 2008. At the time, the Fortune Tour tournaments were the main premier events in these regions apart from Nationals and Continentals.
This tournament series was introduced as a replacement for the Pharaoh Tour. It essentially followed the exact same pattern as the latter with only the name being different: During fall and winter, there were multiple tournaments called Fortune Tour Stops and then, at the end of the year or at the beginning of the following year, there was one more final tournament called Fortune Tour Final. The final tournaments were only accessible to players who had earned invites at previous tournaments throughout the year.
The Fortune Tour tournament series was abolished just one year after its inception in early 2009. It then took over a year before a new series of major tournaments, namely the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series, was introduced.
