"Egg" (エッ E—[Note 1]) is an archetype of Monster Cards solely supported by "Insect Imitation" in the video game Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses.

"Insect Imitation", known as "Hatching" in the Japanese version, has the effect to transform an "Egg" monster into a random monster with the specified characteristics, giving the impression of the egg hatching.

Egg Transformation
"Ryu-Ran"/"Manga Ryu-Ran" A Dragon/FIRE monster.
"Monster Egg" A Beast-Warrior/EARTH monster.
"Gorgon Egg" A Zombie/DARK monster.
"Wing Egg Elf" An "Elf" monster.

  1. While most of the cards in this archetype have the full term 「エッグ」 (Eggu) in their Japanese names, "Ryu-Ran" and "Manga Ryu-Ran" instead have 「エッガー」 (Eggā), hence the Japanese name 「エッ」. Because 「エッ」 ends with a sokuon, and there is no standard way to romanize an ending sokuon, the romanization E— is used.
