Divine-Beast (Japanese: 幻 (げん) 神 (しん) 獣 (じゅう) Genshinjū "Phantom God Beast") is a Type used for the Egyptian God Cards: "Slifer the Sky Dragon", "Obelisk the Tormentor" and "The Winged Dragon of Ra" (including their illegal original prints as well as "The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode").

In Yu-Gi-Oh! R, the Wicked Gods are Divine-Beast-Type monsters; in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime, the Aesir are Divine-Beast-Type monsters.

History

Prior to the release of the legal prints of "Obelisk the Tormentor", "Slifer the Sky Dragon", and "The Winged Dragon of Ra", Divine-Beast was not a legal Type. With their release, it can now be declared with cards like "DNA Surgery".

There is currently no support for Divine-Beast-Type monsters; however, "Ra's Disciple" and "The Creator God of Light, Horakhty" both support all but one of the monsters with this Type as their original Type by name. Additionally, because all monsters with the original Type of Divine-Beast are also DIVINE-Attribute, they are also supported by cards that support DIVINE.
