• Since "Rinyan" is a cat, it might be the antithesis of "Ryko," a dog; "Rinyan" returns a card and allows the player to draw a card, while "Ryko" will destroy a card and sends cards to the Graveyard.
  • This card's effect perfectly exemplifies its title of "Lightsworn Rogue", as it goes against the typical strategy of a "Lightsworn" Deck (recycling cards from the Graveyard to the Deck, as opposed to milling cards from the Deck to the Graveyard).
  • Rogue can also translate to being a trickster or shapeshifter. "Rinyan" is wearing "Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner's" headdress, necklace, and one armband on her tail, so it could be said that she's turning into Lumina. Possibly, by returning a Lightsworn monster to the deck, "Rinyan" "copies" them.
    • Other support for her relation to "Lumina" is the fact that both of them focus on bringing back "Lightsworn" cards from the Graveyard. In addition, both cards possess an identical green background.
  • "Rinyan" is a very appropriate name for this card, coming from the Japanese ri, meaning "clever" or, more accurately, "sneaky", and nyan, a term for a cat after their version of the English "meow".
    • Also the Japanese name is Rainyan, where rai can mean thunder or lightning, based on the appearance of its long ears.
  • This monster is the pet cat of "Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner". [1]
