- This card has a resemblance to Paradox.
- This card's name and effect to gain another monster's effect are similar to "Hundred Eyes Dragon".
- This card is likely based off Date Masamune, a samurai that gained the title the "One-Eyed Dragon" due to his missing eye.
- At first glance, this card appears to actually have two eyes; however, he is most likely wearing a mask covering up his true face, which most likely only has one eye.
- The last part of this card's effect is similar to that of a typical Wind-Up monster, as it can only use its effect once.
- Like how "Number 25: Force Focus" and "Photon Strike Bounzer" have similar effects and are released in the same booster pack, "One-Eyed Skill Gainer" and "Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage" have similar effects to copy another Xyz Monster's effect, and are both released in Abyss Rising.
- This is the first (and currently only) Xyz Monster that specifically states that it can only use its effect once while it is on the field. Since it only copies Xyz Monster effects, it will end up detaching the rest of its Xyz Materials through the copied effect.
