  • Part of this card's OCG name Hope Ray is an alternative wording of "Ray of Hope".
    • This card's effect is related to its name due to the fact that it can only be activated if you have 1000 Life Points or less.
    • This name is also a pun on the card's title; the Katakana for "Rei" can also be interpreted as "Rey", Spanish for King.
  • This is the Cover Card of Order of Chaos.
    • Its name contradicts itself, "Chaos" doesn't really flow with "Utopia", which is probably why it's the Cover Card for Order of Chaos.
  • This card is the first Xyz Monster to use another Xyz Monster as its Xyz Material.
    • It is also the first Xyz Monster to name a specific monster needed for Xyz Material.
    • It is also the first Xyz Monster able to be Xyz Summoned using only one Xyz Material.
      • Needing only 1 Xyz Material to fulfill the requirements of an Xyz Summon is similar to a Transformation Summon.
  • This card's effect is the opposite of its counterpart; the effect of "Utopia" is used to defend, while the effect of "Utopia Ray" is used for offensive purposes.
  • This card has a series of exclusive support cards: "ZW -".
  • The number 39 can be seen on this card's left shoulder plate.
  • This card somewhat resembles the Galahad, piloted by Bismarck Waldstein, from Code Geass, especially the sword.
  • In the anime, your Life Points must be 1000 or less to be able to Summon this card. In the real life version, the 1000 LP or less requirement is applied only for the effect instead, while the Summoning can be done regardless of your current Life-Points.
  • This card won the first place in the "Numbers" popularity poll.
  • In OCG, this card's name is written as CNo. 39 while in TCG, for unknown reason it is changed into Number C39.
    • This makes a slight confusion because the OCG name implies that there are more "Number" that can go "Chaos", so it isn't necessarily has to be "Utopia", while "Chaos 39/C39" implies that only "Utopia" can go "Chaos".
  • This card could be connected to Yuma's realization of his tactics with "Numbers". At first, Yuma used to rely much on his "Utopia", but then realizes that they aren't all-powerful, so he changes his strategy, deciding that his offense will be his greatest defense.
  • The Zexal Weapon cards that equip to this card all have the ability of increasing its attack power by the ATK of the Zexal Weapon it is equipped with, e.g. "ZW - Unicorn Spear" has 1900 ATK and its effect increases this card's ATK by 1900.
  • This card has the most support of any Number/Chaos Number cards so far.
