The label on the cup indicates the cost of this card, which is 1000 Life Points.

"Instant Fusion" is the only card that can Fusion Summon a monster from Extra Deck without involving other cards.

"Instant Fusion" has a Ritual counterpart, "Ritual Foregone".
- They have same Life Point cost for activation.
- Their affected monsters can't attack, and are destroyed End Phase.
- Only one of each can be activated per turn.

The effect of "Instant Fusion" is similar to that of 2 Monster Cards and 1 other Spell Card:
- "Magical Scientist" which can Special Summon 1 Level 6 or lower Fusion Monster at the same cost of 1,000 Life Points;
- "Cyber-Stein" which allows for any Fusion Monster to be Special Summoned at the cost of 5,000 Life Points; and
- Metamorphosis which requires a Monster to be Tributed to Special Summon a Fusion Monster of an equal Level.
- "Magical Scientist", "Cyber-Stein", and "Metamorphosis" are Forbidden, while "Instant Fusion" is Unlimited.
