• This monster is based on the concept of the Id, a part of the psyche according to Sigmund Freud. According to Freud, it is the basic inherent part of the human mind that drives the most savage instincts.
• This monster happens to bear a striking resemblance to the "Id Monster" from the classic Sci-Fi movie, "Forbidden Planet". There, a man's subconscious whims manifest as a huge, invisible monster which becomes temporarily visible when passing through an electrified forcefield, looking almost exactly like the monster in this card's art. The monster in question was also totally indestructible, returning nightly, similar to this card's effect of returning itself repeatedly.
