• In Norse mythology, Fenris or Fenrir (Old Norse "fen-dweller"), Fenrisúlfr (Old Norse "Fenris wolf"), Hróðvitnir (Old Norse "fame-wolf"), or Vánagandr (Old Norse "the monster of the river Ván") is a monstrous wolf. The son of "Loki", it was ruled too dangerous to roam free by the gods, and was bound by an unbreakable chain forged by the dwarves. It was foretold that this beast would kill "Odin" during Ragnarök.
  • The unbreakable chain that bounds this monster, "Gleipnir", can be seen in this artwork.
    • The chains may also reflect how this card can only be Special Summoned in defense position since the chains were designed to pacify it or, in the case of Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG/TCG, prevent it from attacking.
  • This card shares its name with "Fenrir".
  • This is the strongest non-fusion Beast-Type, as well the strongest "Nordic", monster in the game.
  • This card's Portuguese name has the word "Wolf" mistranslated as "Logo", instead of the correct word "Lobo".
