- In the anime, Yugi only used this card to Tribute a monster he owned once (in the real world). Subsequent uses were taken from his opponent via "Brain Control". After the Duelist Kingdom arc, this card is not used again during the Battle City and Virtual World arcs, in light of Yugi's mantra against sacrificing monsters to achieve victory. This card would only be used again in the Waking the Dragons arc, during Yugi's first Duel with Rafael, as a metaphor for the change in his opinion of sacrificing monsters due to the influence of the Orichalcos.
- This card's OCG/TCG artwork is taken from Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist Duel 24: "Swords of Light", specifically from the panel showing this monster being Summoned. However, it faces the opposite direction from its manga depiction.
- "Electromagnetic Turtle" is similar to this card, as they both have a turtle-like design, robotic appearance and are used by Yugi Muto in the anime (though "Catapult Turtle" is a WATER Aqua monster, whereas "Electromagnetic Turtle" is a LIGHT Machine monster).
- This is the first card to receive an errata that changes its overall functionality. This card’s errata of giving its effect a soft once-per-turn clause was implemented in hindsight, so as to prevent the card from being used in any infinite loops or First Turn Kill strategies.
- This card has a retrained counterpart: "Artillery Catapult Turtle".
