- "Winged Kuriboh" doesn't have to be destroyed in battle for its effect to activate. Instead, it can be destroyed with your own "Assault on GHQ" or "Destruction Ring" to protect yourself with its "Waboku"-like effect.
- This card and its counterpart, "Kuriboh", work well in a "Sky Scourge" Deck.
- "Winged Kuriboh" and "Kuriboh" make great Tribute fodder when used in combination with "The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh".
- Although it seems like an unlikely target, if a Stall Deck is played, then "Winged Kuriboh" can be a perfect addition to your lineup. As of 2013, the most effective kind of stall is one that only lasts a turn, and is chain-able or don't have to remain on the field (E.g. cards like "Waboku", "Threatening Roar"). Because "Winged Kuriboh" can be Set, there are no risk for cards like "Solemn Warning" to keep yourself unprotected for that turn. In addition, because it doesn't matter how it was destroyed, when monsters or cards like "Master Hyperion", "Dark Armed Dragon" use their effects to destroy "Winged Kuriboh", the effect will still go off.
- If it is used in a Deck like "Final Countdown" or "Exodia the Forbidden One", then also using one or two copies of "The Flute of Summoning Kuribohs" could add another piece of speed to the Deck. When your opponent goes to attack, this card can simply be responded to Summon out "Winged Kuriboh", and then have no battle damage for the rest of the turn. Not only is it thinning your Deck out by a card, but it is also a Spell Card vs a Trap Card. Meaning "Jinzo" and "Royal Decree" won't be as much as a threat.
- If it is used in a Deck like "Final Countdown" or "Exodia the Forbidden One", it is also a Level 1 monster, meaning it's a perfect target for (what should already be main Decked) "Mystic Piper".
