- Though they happen to be among the more powerful monsters in the Spellcaster Type, it is not recommended that you use Spell Counter-using monsters with this card, due to the fact that it prevents your opponent from using Spells and will slow the accumulation of Spell Counters on your monsters though with monster cards like "Crusader of Endymion" and spell cards like "Spell Power Grasp" generating Spell Counters shouldn't be much of a problem.
- "Secret Village of the Spellcasters" can be effectively used as a Side Deck card in a Lightsworn Deck, since it is supported by the Spellcaster-Type Lightsworns "Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress" and "Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner".
- This card may be overlapped with "The Tricky" (for an Aggro strategy) or 2 copies of "Magician's Valkyria" (to keep your opponent from attacking).
- Use this card in combination with "Royal Decree" so that when you control Spellcaster-Type monsters your opponent can play neither Spell nor Trap Cards. Alternatively, you can use "Sorcerer of Dark Magic" for Trap negation, but it is harder to get out than "Royal Decree".
- You can also use this card with "Destiny HERO - Plasma" so you can create a full lockdown, negating Monster effects, Spell and Trap activation.
- This card combined with "Skill Drain" will shut down most current Decks, which are heavily Spell- and Effect Monster-oriented. This is less useful against Anti-Meta Decks focused on creating card advantage through Traps.
- Combine this card with "Royal Decree", "Ground Collapse", "Ojama Trio" and any Spellcaster for a complete lockdown.
- This is the final step in creating the Northwemko Lockdown. First, activate "Royal Decree", then Summon "Divine Grace - Northwemko" using "Djinn Releaser of Rituals", then play this card. Your opponent may not activate Traps, Magic, or Special Summon by any means. "Northwemko" will also be immune to destruction by effect, which may help to save you from any last ditch efforts to kill the lock. There are very few ways of getting out of this lock without non-destructive Effect Monsters such as "Caius the Shadow Monarch".
- Combine with "Defender, the Magical Knight" for persistent stalling. With its high DEF and special ability, your opponent will have a hard time playing Spell Cards or touching your Life Points. You can also use "Gravekeeper's Spy" for its 2000 DEF and ability to Special Summon another one, but it is not easy to keep face-up unless it's attacked while face-down.
- Use this card together with "Malefic Stardust Dragon" and "Jowgen the Spiritualist" for a hideous lock. While you control both "Jowgen" and this card, your opponent cannot activate Spells nor Special Summon, and due to "Malefic Stardust Dragon", this card cannot be destroyed!
- You can't use "Apprentice Magician" alone with this card; if a face up "Apprentice Magician" is destroyed by battle, another one is Special Summoned in face-down Defense Position. There will no longer be a Spellcaster on the field as the face-down Monster Cards do not have a Type. The best thing to do would be to use "Magical Dimension" before an opponent destroys it by battle and pull out a stronger Spellcaster-Type monster from you hand, keeping your opponent from activating Spell Cards and destroying one of their monsters.
- If you draw "Terraforming" while this card is already out, use it. You may need to Set another Field Spell Card if you run out of Spellcasters.
- Note that "Spiritualism" cannot be used against this card, since its effect is not "negated" by "Secret Village of the Spellcasters".
- Combine this card with Tyrant's Temper and DNA Surgery to ensure that the opponent cannot use Spell cards.
