• This card works well with "Worm" cards that activate effects upon cards being Set, such as "Worm Illidan".

• This card is perfect to stop "Sasuke Samurai" and "Drillroid" attacks, since they would destroy your Defense Position monsters, then you may form a defensive field against those monsters.

• Watch out for cards such as "Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth" and "Tytannial, Princess of Camellias", as they can Tribute a monster to negate this card and destroy it.

• This card also works well with "Savage Colosseum" as it negates your opponent's monster from attacking, thus destroying them during their end phase.

• Combine this card with Pixie Ring to stop the destruction of your strongest monster on the field and therefore, because of Pixie Rings effect the destruction of all your other weaker monsters.

• • An alternate option and more preferable is using "Dark Simorgh", absolutely preventing your opponent from Setting this card.

• "Bait Doll can easily destroy this card because of the fact that "Scrap-Iron Scarecrow" has a specific timing.

• Monsters that have effects which work after the "damage step" won't be applied, since "Scrap-Iron Scarecrow" negates the attack

• If you have 3 copies set, it is unlikely for your opponent to get through.

• • The opponent can easily destroy them with Heavy Storm though.
