- This card can be searched via "Sangan", "Last Will", "Witch of the Black Forest" and "Mystic Tomato".
- You can use Gravekeeper's Vassal to inflict damage when destroying monsters in Attack Position, or Volcanic Doomfire to destroy all of your opponent's monsters and inflict damage when Phantom of Chaos destroys a monster by battle (with Volcanic Doomfire's effect).
- This card works well with "Crush Card Virus", "Deck Devastation Virus", and "Eradicator Epidemic Virus".
- Traditional Format only: This card is amazing for recycling Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End's effect.
- Using this card's effect, select "Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare" to destroy any one monster your opponent controls.
- This card can be used in many OTKs. You can use this card, along with "Demise, King of Armageddon" to destroy every card on the field.
- This card is great for mimicking strong monsters, such as "Five-Headed Dragon" and "Dragon Master Knight", or with cards that "power-up" like "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon", "Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon", and "Dark Paladin". You can also use Mystic Wok to gain a lot of life points.
- Use this card to help Special Summon cards that require a certain monster(s) to be Tributed, like with "Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon", "Armitael, Phantasm of Chaos", and "Gate Guardian".
- By using "Foolish Burial" to get a fusion material monster in the grave, this card can substitute for it. This works better with cards that can't be fused by normal means, such as Neo-Spacians.
- Use this monsters effect on the Sacred Beasts to gain a huge advantage on the field. If you choose Hamon you will still do 1000 points of effect damage if you destroy one of your opponents monsters, and if you choose Uria you will be able to destroy one of your opponents face down cards.
- This card is great for quickly getting out strong LV monsters that require you to destroy a monster by battle with a lower LV monster in order to summon it, such as "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8", or "Armed Dragon LV7". Have a lower LV monster in the graveyard, then use this card to copy that monster's effect for the turn. Once you satisfied the requirements, you can level-up this card during the end phase, and get the higher LV monster from your hand or deck. You can make this combo easier to pull with "Foolish Burial".
- This card can work well in a Gladiator Beast deck.
- Since the effect of "Phantom of Chaos" involves to remove from play Monster Cards from your Graveyard, this cards works well in combo with "Return from the Different Dimension", "Escape from the Dark Dimension" and (in Traditional Format) with "Dimension Fusion".
- "Phantom of Chaos" can copy powerful cards like "Sky Scourge Norleras" and "Gandora the Dragon of Destruction" to get rid of all cards with out attacking.
- This card can be used as a side decking option for most Lightsworn duelists, as it can copy the effect of Judgment Dragon or Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress to destroy Light-Imprisoning Mirror and re-enable the deck.
- You can use this card to copy the effect of "Dark Armed Dragon" and remove from play DARK monsters from your graveyard to destroy your opponent's cards. This combination is easier if you use "Foolish Burial", "Armageddon Knight" or "Dark Grepher" to send "Dark Armed Dragon" to the graveyard.
- If you have an Earthbound Immortal deck which uses Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu, this may be a good card to use since it can inflict damage to your opponent's life points using Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu's effect (while also boasting a capable 3000 ATK), just make sure there is a field spell card when using this card's effect.
- Equip this card with Mist Body so it won't be destroyed by your opponent's monsters when its ATK goes back to 0 at the End Phase. This combo also goes well with Spirit Barrier so you don't take any damage when this card gets attacked.
