- This card is best used when you either have only a single monster in your Graveyard or copies of a monster with the same (printed) name.
- Decks that specialize in Tribute Summoning, Xyz Summoning, or Link 1 Link Summoning can easily set up the Graveyard state where your opponent only has one monster in your Graveyard to select. Similarly, using effects with singular discard costs can also set up this card, provided that you don't move the selected monster out of the Graveyard first.
- In subsequent turns, activating this card during your Main Phase 2 gives the near-guarantee of recovering a monster in your Graveyard. If it can be used as discard fodder for a Spell Speed 2 effect, then it no longer matters what the recovered monster is.
