• After getting an opponent's monster face-down use "Mystic Swordsman LV6's" effect to put the monster on the top of their deck. Then activate "Conscription" to get the monster.
  • Use a card that can send this card from your deck or hand to the Graveyard, like "One for One". You can then reborn this monster, like using "Call of the Haunted", without having to put it face down. Most of the time, this would force your opponent to play cards only in attack mode or be trapped in a loop. If your opponent does set monsters in face-down defense position, use "Mystic Swordsman LV6's" second effect to create a lock on your opponents draws.
  • Using the effect of "Destiny HERO - Dasher" upon drawing this card is an excellent way to get around its summoning conditions.
  • You can use "Hieracosphinx" with either this card or "Mystic Swordsman LV4" when you Normal Summon them so you have at least one turn to flip them face-up before they could be destroyed by battle.
  • This card's effect may be useful to begin a variant of the "Jackal Lockdown". It works even against "Marshmallon" or "Spirit Reaper", which are not destroyed by battle.
    • Likewise, you may use "Heat Wave" in order to keep your opponent from Summoning face-up Effect Monsters for one turn, thereby coercing them to Set a monster in order for it to get destroyed and bounced by this card's effect, setting up the lock.
    • Or more cruel, you might use effects that allow skipping your Draw Phase, thereby lingering "Heat Wave", so that your opponent does ONLY Set their Effect Monsters, turning the lock infraggable.
