• This card can be searched via "Witch of the Black Forest".

• He can't attack right away anyway so use Soul Exchange to summon him and take out an enemy monster.

• This card works well with cards that give you benefits when destroyed. Things like "Statue of the Wicked", "Dark Coffin", "Sangan", "Yubel", and "Call of the Haunted" come to mind.

• This card works well with cards that can revive themselves after being destroyed, such as "D.D. Survivor" and "Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys".

• This card is the only one among Monarchs whose effect activates even it is not Tribute Summoned, so it works well with cards that Special Summon monsters such as Reasoning, Monster Gate, Monster Reborn, Premature Burial, Call of the Haunted, Return from the Different Dimension, Dimension Fusion, The Creator, D.D.M. - Different Dimension Master and D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation.

• Use this card in combination with "Dark Coffin", "Blast with Chain" and "Smoke Grenade of the Thief" to deprive your opponent of their cards while you replace your cards with freshly drawn ones.

• You can put this in a Mill Deck so the downside of Kuraz's effect (your opponent drawing cards) becomes a good thing.

• You can destroy your own cards to draw from your deck.

• You can destroy a Sangan on your side of the field to draw a card and get a monster.

• You can use this card in combination with "Appropriate" so that you can destroy two of your opponent's cards AND draw two cards in the process. You can also destroy 1 of your cards and 1 of your opponent's to draw 3 cards total.

• Summon this card with "Premature Burial" or "D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation", then activate "Kuraz the Light Monarch"'s effect to destroy itself and the equipped "Premature Burial" or "D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation" to draw 2 cards.

• You can also use this card with Greed and inflict 1000 points of damage every time you summon him.

• Use this card as a tribute for Yubel and then revive it using The Creator, in order to reuse it's effect. Or, you can destroy Yubel using this card to quickly summon her next form.

• Traditional Format ONLY: If you have a "Limit Reverse" set with a "Destiny Hero - Disk Commander" in your graveyard and a "Kuraz the Light Monarch" in your hand, can activate the "Limit Reverse" on the "Destiny Hero - Disk Commander" and then tribute it for "Kuraz the Light Monarch" and destroy "Limit Reverse" because it will stay on the field due to it's effect that states that the monster has to be Destroyed in order to remove "Limit Reverse" from the field, then destroy another card of your choice and draw a total of 4 cards! If you have two set "Limit Reverse" then you can reborn "Destiny Hero - Disk Commander" a second time and destroy the second "Limit Reverse" with "Kuraz the Light Monarch" and draw a total of 6 cards!

• This card works fine with Crystal Beast Decks, since with Kuraz's effect you can destroy two Crystal Beast monsters, which then places them in your Spell & Trap Card Zone), and then you get to draw two cards.

• Combo this with Trap Dustshoot against your opponent.

• Combo this with Protector of the Sanctuary, you can destroy 2 of your opponent's cards but cannot draw cards, due to the effect of Protector of the Sanctuary

• Combo this with Vortex Trooper, summon it to use it's effect, then summon Kuraz and destroy your Vortex Trooper to draw a total of 4 cards, 3 from Vortex Trooper and 1 from Kuraz's effect.

• Combo this with "Geartown". First, destroy "Geartown", you can draw 1 card and then special summon Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon with Geartown's effect.

• Destroy your face-down Sand Moth to draw 1 card and have a 2000 ATK monster (from Sand Moth's effect).

• With Il Blud and Zombie World, you can revive this card once per turn with no cost, destroy it with its own effect to draw a card, and start over on your next turn. You would draw an extra card each turn if you put one Card of Safe Return in the combo.
