- This card is great in a "Zombie World" Deck since there are multiple targets for it such as "Sangan", "Spirit Reaper", and of course, "Plaguespreader Zombie".
- The three "Cyberdark" monsters make good Tribute fodder for "Crush Card Virus", "Deck Devastation Virus" and "Eradicator Epidemic Virus", as they have various ATK values according to the Dragon-Type equipped monster, or after their equipment has been destroyed.
- "Crush Card Virus" works well at knocking out some commonly-used cards, such as "Jinzo", the Monarchs, "Dark Magician of Chaos" and "Cyber Dragon".
- After "Light and Darkness Dragon" has lowered its ATK to less than 1000 with its own effect, Tribute it to activate "Crush Card Virus".
- With "DNA Transplant", any monster with 1000 or less ATK can make this card work.
- "Alchemy Cycle" will make any DARK monster eligible for use with this card.
- The "Apprentice Magician" toolbox is the perfect way to take advantage of "Crush Card Virus", since you easily Special Summon DARK monsters with <1000 ATK. Summon "Old Vindictive Magician", use its Flip Effect to destroy an opponent's monster, then Tribute it for "Crush Card Virus". This is best utilized when the opponent has a monster with <1500 ATK or "Elemental HERO Wildheart" / "Tenkabito Shien" on the field.
- This card is very powerful in a "Destiny HERO" Deck.
- Use "The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh" to Special Summon "Kuriboh" and use it as the Tribute.
- "Black Garden" can supply an almost endless amount of ammunition to play "Crush Card Virus". However, "Black Garden" will halve the opponent's monsters' ATKs, limiting the amount of monsters "Crush Card Virus" can destroy.
- This card is play-able in "Lightsworn" Decks since they mostly use both "Necro Gardna" and "Plaguespreader Zombie" and is therefore easy to use it while building up the Graveyard
- If you recognize a specific deck archetype being used, this card becomes much more powerful after using "Dark Designator". If dueling against, for example, a "Cyber Dragon" Deck, use "Dark Designator" to make sure that "Cyber Dragon" is in the hand when you activate "Crush Card Virus".
- Before "Crush Card Virus" is activated, activate up to 3 copies of "Nightmare Archfiends", dealing 2400 damage for each.
- This card can be useful in an "Infernity" based Deck due to their average low ATKs.
- This card pairs well with "Dimensional Fissure" and "Soul Absorption". "Crush Card" destroys every strong monster in the opponent's hand and on the field for 3 turns, "Dimensional Fissure" banishes them, and "Soul Absorption" gives its controller 500 Life Points for each monster banished.
- "Crush Card Virus" would be an excellent card in a "Dark World" Deck. Notable targets for activating this card include "Scarr, Scout of Dark World", "Sangan", "Gren, Tactician of Dark World" and "Kahkki, Guerilla of Dark World".
