OCG Rulings
Edit
- After resolving the effect of "Kuraz the Light Monarch", it is treated as being both "When a monster is destroyed" and "When a card is drawn". The "destroy" and "draw" parts are considered to resolve simultaneously.[1]
- Example: If "Kuraz the Light Monarch" destroys "Yubel", then even if you draw a card the effect of "Yubel" does not miss the timing and can be activated, so that "Yubel - Terror Incarnate" is Special Summoned.[1]
- For the effect of "Reptilianne Hydra", "destroy all face-up monsters your opponent controls with 0 ATK" and "draw a number of cards equal to the number of monsters destroyed" are considered to resolve simultaneously.[2]
- Example: If "Yubel" is destroyed by the effect of "Reptilianne Hydra", then the effect of "Yubel" may be activated.[2]
- For "Gemini Spark", "destroy 1 card" and "draw 1 card" are treated as resolving simultaneously. After resolving "Gemini Spark", it is treated as both "when a card is destroyed" and "when a card is drawn".[3]
- Example: If "Yubel" is destroyed by the effect of "Reptilianne Hydra" [sic], then the effect of "Yubel" may be activated.[3]
- For "Genex Ally Volcannon", the effect which destroys a face-up monster and the effect which inflicts damage equal to its Level x400 are treated as resolving simultaneously. After the effect resolves, it is considered to be both "when a card is destroyed" and "when damage is inflicted".[4]
- Example: If "Yubel" is destroyed by the effect of "Genex Ally Volcannon", then you can activate its effect to Special Summon "Yubel - Terror Incarnate".[4]
- For "Jurrac Meteor", the resolution which destroys all cards on the field and the resolution which Special Summons one Tuner monster from your Graveyard are not treated as resolving at the same time. After resolving the effect which destroys all cards, the player who activated the effect chooses whether or not to resolve the effect which Special Summons a monster.[5]
- Example: If "Yubel" is destroyed by the effect of "Jurrac Meteor" and the effect of "Jurrac Meteor" Special Summons a Tuner monster, then the effect of "Yubel" cannot be activated. Also, if the effect of "Jurrac Meteor" does not Special Summon a Tuner monster, then you the effect of the destroyed "Yubel" can be activated, and "Yubel - Terror Incarnate" can be Special Summoned.[5]
Previously Official Rulings
Edit
| These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been deemed unofficial by Konami.[6] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - "Yubel's" damage inflicting effect is a Trigger Effect that activates before damage calculation.
- Tributing 1 monster or destroying "Yubel" is a Trigger Effect that activates during your End Phase. You make your choice when the effect resolves.
- When "Yubel" is destroyed while in the hand or Deck, its effect activates. If it is destroyed while face-down, its effect activates.
- The owner of "Yubel" activates the effect. (If your opponent controls your "Yubel" when it is destroyed, you get the effect, not your opponent.)
- When "Yubel" is destroyed during the Damage Step, its effect can be activated.
