TCG Rulings
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Morphtronic Forcefield: You can only chain “Morphtronic Forcefield” to a card that destroys a “Morphtronic” monster at resolution, not to a card that will destroy one in the future. So you cannot chain it to “Ekibyo Drakmord”, “Blind Destruction”, or “Needle Wall”.
OCG Rulings
- The card "Needle Wall" can be activated at any time, except during the Damage Step.[1]
- If the card "Needle Wall" is activating during the player's Standby Phase, its effect can be activated in the same Chain Link as the card.[1]
- The effect "Once per turn, during your Standby Phase: Roll a six-sided die" makes a Chain Link. (It does not target.)[1]
- If there is no monster in the Monster Zone corresponding to the die result, the effect resolves without destroying a monster.[1]
- In "Treat your opponent's Monster Card Zones as numbers 1-5, counting from your right", the text "your opponent's Monster Card Zones" should read "your opponent's Main Monster Zones". (This is effective from March 25, 2017.)[1]
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Morphtronic Forcefield: "Morphtronic Forcefield" cannot be activated in Chain to the activation of a Spell/Trap Card for which it is undetermined whether or not it will destroy a "Morphtronic" monster when it is activated. Consequently, it cannot be activated in Chain to "Needle Wall" or "Blind Destruction".[2]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been deemed unofficial by Konami.[3] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - If you have multiple "Needle Walls", roll a die for each.
- If you activate this card (flip it face-up) during your Standby Phase, you still roll during that same Standby Phase.
