TCG Rulings

• You can chain “Morphtronic Forcefield” to effects that do not target, like “Dark Hole”.^[1]

• You cannot chain “Morphtronic Forcefield” to effects that are uncertain to destroy a “Morphtronic” monster like “Fissure” or “Smashing Ground”, even if the only monsters you control are “Morphtronic” monsters.^[1]

• If you don’t have any “Morphtronic” monsters ^[sic] in your Deck, you cannot activate “Morphtronic Forcefield”.^{[1][Notes 1]}

• You can only chain “Morphtronic Forcefield” to a card that destroys a “Morphtronic” monster at resolution, not to a card that will destroy one in the future. So you cannot chain it to “Ekibyo Drakmord”, “Blind Destruction”, or “Needle Wall”.^[1]

• You cannot activate “Morphtronic Forcefield” if “Thunder King Rai-Oh” is on the field. If an effect is chained to “Morphtronic Forcefield” that Summons “Thunder King Rai-Oh”, you will not be able to add a “Morphtronic” monster to your hand, but “Morphtronic Forcefield” will still negate the Spell or Trap Card that it was chained to.^[1]

OCG Rulings

• You can activate "Morphtronic Forcefield" against a card which does not target, such as "Torrential Tribute".^[2]

• You cannot activate "Morphtronic Forcefield" when you have no "Morphtronic" cards in your Deck.^[3]

• "Morphtronic Forcefield" cannot be Chained to "Smashing Ground"/"Fissure"/etc, even if you only control "Morphtronic" monsters.^[4]

• You can activate "Morphtronic Forcefield" against "Torrential Tribute" if there is a "Morphtronic" monster on the field.^[4]

• You can activate "Morphtronic Forcefield" against "Mirror Force" if you control a face-up Attack Position "Morphtronic" monster.^[4]

• You cannot activate "Morphtronic Forcefield" against a card like "Needle Wall" or "Blind Destruction" is activated, because it will not destroy a card at resolution. You cannot use "Morphtronic Forcefield" against a card which may or may not destroy a "Morphtronic" monster.^[5]
