This card's OCG and TCG rulings contradict each other.
In the TCG, the effect that prevents monsters from attacking or being Tributed lasts until the End Phase. In the OCG, if control of a monster returns to its original owner before the End Phase, it may be Tributed.
These Ruling(s) have not been confirmed as applicable to the TCG.[Notes 1]
A card with an effect of "Control of this face-up card on the field cannot switch" cannot switch control while face-up under any circumstances. So, if a face-down Botanical Lion changes control due to Mind Control and is then flipped face-up, the lingering part of the effect of Mind Control will not apply during the End Phase and control of Botanical Lion will not return to the opponent.
These Ruling(s) have not been confirmed as applicable to the TCG.[Notes 2]
The effect that prevents the monster from attacking or being Tributed wears off during the End Phase. If control of the monster is returned to the owner before the End Phase, it cannot be Tributed.
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been deemed unofficial by Konami. They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. References:
