TCG Rulings
These Ruling(s) have not been confirmed as applicable to the TCG.[Notes 1] |
- Herald of Orange Light can negate any monster effect activated by your opponent. ... "your opponent controls" is referring to "effect" not "an Effect Monster". The card still cannot be used to negate your own monster effects.[1]
OCG Rulings
- Sending "Herald of Orange Light" and another Fairy-Type monster from your hand to the Graveyard is a cost to activate the effect of "Herald of Orange Light". This effect does not target.[2]
- The effect of "Herald of Orange Light" can also be activated during the Damage Step.[2]
- The effects of "Herald of Orange Light", "Herald of Green Light", and "Herald of Purple Light" may be activated during the Damage Step. Each effect may also be activated during damage calculation during the Damage Step.[3]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been deemed unofficial by Konami.[4] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - "Herald of Orange Light's" effect is a Quick Effect. It can be activated during the Damage Step.
- If "Banisher of the Radiance" or "Macro Cosmos" is face-up on the field, you cannot activate "Herald of Orange Light's" effect because you cannot send it and another Fairy-Type monster to the Graveyard for the cost.
- "Herald of Orange Light's" effect will not be negated by the effect of "The End of Anubis" because it doesn't activate in the Graveyard.
- If an attacking Effect Monster or an Effect Monster that is being attacked activates an effect during the Damage Step before damage calculation, when "Herald of Orange Light's" effect is chained to negate the effect and destroy the monster, damage calculation is not performed. Also, a replay does not occur.
