OCG Rulings[]
- When "Final Destiny"/"Demise, King of Armageddon"/etc would destroy "Power Tool Dragon" and an Equip Spell Card simultaneously, you cannot apply the effect of "Power Tool Dragon" and send the Equip Spell Card to the Graveyard instead.[1]
- If "Mermaid Archer" and the equipped monster would be destroyed simultaneously by "Demise, King of Armageddon"/"Judgment Dragon"/"Final Destiny"/etc, then you cannot apply the effect of "Mermaid Archer" and destroy the equipped monster instead.[2]
- Suppose you control "Malefic Stardust Dragon" and a Field Spell Card. If your opponent activates an effect like that of "Demise, King of Armageddon" or "Final Destiny" or "Judgment Dragon" which would destroy "Malefic Stardust Dragon" and the Field Spell Card simultaneously, then the Field Spell Card is not destroyed since it cannot be destroyed by card effects.[3]
Mentions in Other Rulings[]
- Union Monster: If "Spirit of the Six Samurai" and its equipped "Six Samurai" monster are going to be destroyed simultaneously by an effect like "Final Destiny", the "If the equipped monster would be destroyed, destroy this card instead." effect of "Spirit of the Six Samurai" can be applied. "Spirit of the Six Samurai" will be destroyed instead of the "Six Samurai" monster, and the "Six Samurai" monster will remain face-up on the field.[4]
Previously Official Rulings[]
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been deemed unofficial by Konami.[6] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - Discarding 5 cards from your hand is a cost. You cannot activate this card if you have less than 5 cards in your hand.[5]
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Butterfly Dagger - Elma: ...if the monster and the "Butterfly Dagger - Elma" are destroyed simultaneously by a card like "Final Destiny", then you can return it to your hand.
- Magical Thorn: "Magical Thorn" deals damage per card, so if the opponent...discard 5 cards to activate "Final Destiny" they take 2500 points of damage.
- Metallizing Parasite - Lunatite: While "Metallizing Parasite - Lunatite" is equipped to a monster, and "Final Destiny" is activated, all monsters are destroyed except for the monster equipped with "Metallizing Parasite - Lunatite".
