OCG Rulings[]
- If "Djinn Cursenchanter of Rituals" is removed from play from the Graveyard for a Ritual Summon, then "Djinn Cursenchanter of Rituals" is removed from play as a Level 4 monster. Thus, you cannot remove from play only this one card to Ritual Summon a Level 5+ monster.[1]
- The effect of "Djinn Cursenchanter of Rituals" will also negate Synchro Monsters' effects which activate in the Graveyard, such as the effect of "Colossal Fighter".[2]
Djinn of Rituals Monster Rulings[]
TCG Rulings
- You cannot use this card for a Ritual Summon conducted with “Advanced Ritual Art.”[3]
- This card can only be used as 1 of the Tributes for a Ritual Summon, regardless of whether you Tribute it normally or remove it from your Graveyard from play.[3]
- If you remove this card from play for the Ritual Summon of “Divine Grace – Northwemko” it counts towards the number of cards you can select for the effect of “Divine Grace – Northwemko.”[3]
- You can remove from play more than 1 “Djinn Releaser of Rituals” as the Tributes for a Ritual Summon.[3]
- Even if you have no monsters to Tribute for a Ritual Summon, if this card is in your Graveyard you can still activate a Ritual Spell Card.[3]
- If you Tribute this card from your hand or field for a Ritual Summon, its effect will apply.[3]
- If “D.D. Crow” is Chained to the activation of a Ritual Spell removing this card in your Graveyard from play, the Ritual Spell will still resolve normally and you will Tribute monsters you control or monsters in your hand. If you do not have the required monsters, your opponent can check your hand and Set monsters to verify.[3]
- You remove this card from play during the resolution of the Ritual Spell Card. Its effect does not start a Chain.[3]
- You can remove this card from play during the resolution of a Ritual Spell even if “Mask of Restrict” is in play because it does not count as Tributing the monster.[3]
- If the Ritual Monster that was Ritual Summoned using this card is flipped face-down, this card's effect is no longer applied.[3]
OCG Rulings[]
On Banishing[]
- If you have enough monsters like "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" or "Djinn Presider of Rituals" in your Graveyard, then you can activate a Ritual Spell Card even if you do not have any monsters on the field or in your hand that you can Tribute.[4]
- You can banish from the Graveyard multiple monsters like "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" or "Djinn Presider of Rituals" for a single Ritual Summon.[5]
- When "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" or "Djinn Presider of Rituals" is banished when Ritual Summoning, it does not start a Chain Link. "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" or "Djinn Presider of Rituals" is banished when resolving the effect of the Ritual Spell Card, at the same time that the other monsters are Tributed.[6]
- When "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" or "Djinn Presider of Rituals" is banished from the Graveyard when Ritual Summoning, "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" is banished as a Level 3 monster, and "Djinn Presider of Rituals" is banished as a Level 4 monster. If you are Ritual Summoning a high-Level Ritual Monster, then you cannot only banish 1 "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" to perform the Ritual Summon.
- Example: "Divine Grace - Northwemko" is a Level 7 monster. When resolving "Ritual of Grace", "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" is banished as a Level 3 monster, so you need to Tribute 4 or more Levels of monsters.[7]
- Advanced Ritual Art: When Ritual Summoning by "Advanced Ritual Art", you can only send Normal Monsters to the Graveyard; you cannot send monsters like "Ritual Raven" or "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" to the Graveyard. Furthermore, you cannot banish from your Graveyard a monster like "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" when Ritual Summoning by "Advanced Ritual Art".[8]
- Divine Grace - Northwemko: If a monster like "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" or "Djinn Presider of Rituals" is banished from the Graveyard to Special Summon "Divine Grace - Northwemko", then "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" will count towards "the number of monsters used to Ritual Summon this card".[9]
- Forbidden Arts of the Gishki: When Ritual Summoning by "Forbidden Arts of the Gishki", you can apply the effect of a "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" in your Graveyard, but you cannot apply the effect of a "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" in your opponent's Graveyard.[10]
- Soul Exchange: If you are activating a card or effect that requires Tributing, then "Soul Exchange" forces you to Tribute the targeted monster if the targeted monster is still face-up on the field. Thus, if "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" is in your Graveyard and you can Ritual Summon a Ritual Monster using only the monster targeted by "Soul Exchange", then you cannot banish "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" from your Graveyard when you are Ritual Summoning. Also, when Ritual Summoning you can both Tribute the opponent's monster on the field and banish a monster like "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" from your Graveyard, as long as the opponent's monster has a lower Level than the Ritual Monster.[11]
On the Granted Effects[]
- If an effect like "Skill Drain" is negating the effects of "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" or "Djinn Presider of Rituals" while the monster is Tributed for a Ritual Summon, then the effects like "While the Ritual Monster this card was used in Ritual Summon for is face-up on the field, your opponent cannot Special Summon monsters." and "If the Ritual Monster this card was used for in the Ritual Summon destroys a monster by battle, the controller of the Ritual Monster draws 1 card." are still applied.[12]
- If a monster like "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" or "Djinn Presider of Rituals" is Tributed from the hand or field for a Ritual Summon, then their effects are still applied, so the opponent may not Special Summon monsters, etc.[13]
- The effect of "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" which prevents your opponent from Special Summoning and the effect of "Djinn Presider of Rituals" which lets you draw when an opponent's monster is destroyed are not treated as effects of the Ritual Monster which was Ritual Summoned. Thus, if the effect of the Ritual Monster is negated by an effect like "Skill Drain" or "Forbidden Chalice", then the effect of "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" which prevents your opponent from Special Summoning is still applied.[14]
- If a Ritual Monster is flipped face-down by an effect like "Book of Moon" after it was Ritual Summoned by using monsters like "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" or "Djinn Presider of Rituals", then the effect of "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" is no longer applied. Afterwards, even if the Ritual Monster is flipped face-up again, then the effect of "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" is still no longer applied.[15]
