TCG Rulings

• You must choose to send 1, 2, or 3 cards to the Graveyard when you activate this effect.^[1]

• If "Card Trooper's" first effect is activated, and it is flipped face-down then face-up again, the increase in ATK is no longer applied. The effect can be activated again.^[1]

• You cannot activate "Card Trooper's" first effect if "Dimensional Fissure" or "Macro Cosmos" is face-up on the field.^[1]

• If "Skill Drain" is activated after "Card Trooper's" first effect has been activated, the increase in ATK will be negated. Even if "Skill Drain" leaves play, the increase in ATK will not return.^[1]

• "Card Trooper's" second effect activates in the Graveyard. If your opponent controls your "Card Trooper" and it is destroyed while on their side of the field, this effect cannot be activated.^[1]

• "Card Trooper's" second effect will activate if it was treated as an Equip Card when it was destroyed, but only if it was sent from your side of the field to your Graveyard.^[1]

Mentions in Other Rulings

• Dimension Fortress Weapon: Costs cannot be paid while “Dimension Fortress Weapon” is on the field, if the cost is to send cards from the Deck to the Graveyard. So “Card Trooper” and “Celestia, Lightsworn Angel” cannot activate their effects.

OCG Rulings

• The effect does not target.^[2]

• Sending a card(s) from the Deck to the Graveyard is a cost to activate the effect.^[2]

• All 1-3 card(s) are sent to the Graveyard simultaneously.^[2]

• If this card is destroyed and sent to Graveyard while face-down, the effect activates.^[2]

• "Dimension Fortress Weapon" prevents cards from being sent from the Deck to the Graveyard, so while its effect is active effects like those of "Celestia, Lightsworn Angel", "Card Trooper", and "Hidden Armory" cannot be activated.^[3]

• If the ATK of "Majestic Star Dragon" is increased because it negated and then activated the effect of "Card Trooper", then when it is affected by "Skill Drain", the ATK of "Majestic Star Dragon" will return to its original value.^[4]
