OCG Rulings
- "Must first be Synchro Summoned" is not treated as the effect of an Effect Monster.[1]
- This effect does not target.[1]
- If at the time of the resolution of the effect of "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star" you don't have a level 4 or lower non-Tuner "Blackwing" monster in your hand, the effect does not resolve. Furthermore, if at the time "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star" is successfully Synchro Summoned you don't have a level 4 or lower non-Tuner "Blackwing" monster in your hand, the effect of "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star" cannot be activated.[2]
- "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star" cannot be Special Summoned from the Extra Deck except by being Synchro Summoned. Therefore, "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star" cannot be Special Summoned by the effect of "Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor". Also, if a "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star" has been Special Summoned from the Extra Deck by being properly Synchro Summoned is sent to the Graveyard, that "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star" can be Special Summoned by the effect of "Monster Reborn" or "Call Of The Haunted".[3]
- The effects of the monster Special Summoned with the effect of "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star" are negated as long as that monster remains face-up on the field.[4]
- The effects of a "Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite" that has been Special Summoned by the effect of "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star" are only negated while it remains on the field. Therefore, since the effects of the Special Summoned "Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite" that has been sent to the Graveyard are no longer negated, the effect of "Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite" that Special Summons itself and inflicts 400 points of damage can be activated.[5]
- If "Urgent Tuning" is activated during the Battle Phase of the opponent's turn as chain 1 to Synchro Summon "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star", the effect of "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star" can be activated. Also, if "Urgent Tuning" is activated during the Battle Phase of the opponent turn as chain 2 or higher, "Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star" can be Special Summoned, but in that case its effect misses the timing and it cannot be activated.[6]
