TCG Rulings[]
- If a "Black Luster Soldier" monster is Ritual Summoned using 2 copies of this card, it will not gain 2 copies of each effect granted by this card. However, if a "Black Luster Soldier" is Ritual Summoned using both this card and "Evening Twilight Knight", it will gain the 4 effects granted by those monsters: 2 copies of the monster-banishing effect, and the other 2 unique effects (1 from this card, and 1 from "Evening Twilight Knight").[1]
OCG Rulings[]
- The "A "Black Luster Soldier" monster Ritual Summoned using this card gains these effects." effect is not treated as an Ignition, Trigger, Quick or Continuous Effect. (It does not target. A "Black Luster Soldier" monster Ritual Summoned using "Beginning Knight" gains both "●" effects. These effects are not activated by "Beginning Knight".)[2]
- The "● Once per turn: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; banish it." effect is an Ignition Effect. (It targets 1 monster your opponent controls.)[2]
- The "● When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: You can activate this effect; this card can make a second attack in a row." effect is a Trigger Effect. (It does not target. It can be activated at the end of the Damage Step when the opponent's monster is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard.)[2]
- The "If this card is banished from the Graveyard: You can add 1 Ritual Spell Card from your Deck to your hand." effect is a Trigger Effect. (It does not target. It can be activated during the Damage Step.)[2]
- If "Black Luster Soldier" is Ritual Summoned by Tributing "Beginning Knight" and "Evening Twilight Knight", it gains all "●" effects. Since the "● Once per turn: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; banish it." effect of "Beginning Knight" and the "● Once per turn: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; banish it." effect of "Evening Twilight Knight" are treated as different effects, each effect can be used once per turn. (If you activate both effects, you can banish 2 monsters your opponent controls.)[3]
