  • According to Taro Yamashita, this card is just as powerful as the "Egyptian Gods," but its incredibly difficult Summoning condition discouraged anyone from using it. It is also said to be a fairly common card, once again because its power is mitigated by its Summoning requirements.
  • When this card is Summoned in the anime, a storm forms overhead. The monster itself emerges from beneath the WRGP Dueling Lane and shatters the glass around the track with its roar.

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's

  • In episode 119, this card is shown in Taro Yamashita's backstory when he was shown building the Deck that he and his friends would use for the World Racing Grand Prix. Taro believes that this card will be the key to helping him and his friends win the WRGP.
  • In episode 120, this card appears in Yusei Fudo's thoughts when he notes to his friends that due to the number of turns that have passed by, Team Taiyo can summon this card on their next turn, which will most certainly lead to Team 5D's being defeated if they do not act fast. The non-card form of "Zushin the Sleeping Giant" also appears briefly as Yusei considers Team Taiyo's plan, although it is mostly obscured by shadows.
  • In episode 121, Taro Yamashita uses this card during his Turbo Duel against Crow Hogan. He Special Summons this card by Tributing "Key Mace" (who had been on Taro's side of the field for at least ten turns). Everyone was amazed at this card being summoned and starts cheering for Taro. Taro then activates "Speed Spell - Explosion" to destroy "Dragon Capture Jar" and switch "Black-Winged Dragon" to Attack Position. This card then attacks "Black-Winged Dragon". Due to this card's effect, its ATK becomes equal to the ATK of "Black-Winged Dragon" plus 1000 until the end of the Damage Step. This card then destroys "Black-Winged Dragon". Taro then activates "Power Throw" to Tribute "Kurama" and inflict damage to Crow equal to twice the ATK of "Kurama", defeating Crow. After Crow activates "Monster Baton" and its effect to send "Blackwing - Boreas the Sharp" from his hand to the Graveyard and grant "Monster Baton" its effects, Cross passes the baton to Yusei, who proceeds in Dueling Taro.
    • At the beginning of this episode, Leo mentions that he owns several copies of this card.
    • In the same episode, this card appears in a flashback Taro has when he reminds himself that he and his team believed in themselves that they could summon this card, as they have no rare cards.
    • It is also stated in the same episode that no one had been able to Summon "Zushin the Sleeping Giant" until Team Taiyo's Duel with Team 5D's.
  • In episode 121, Taro uses this card during his Turbo Duel against Yusei. In the next episode, this card attacks "Stardust Dragon". Due to this card's effect, its ATK becomes equal to the ATK of "Stardust Dragon" plus 1000 until the end of the Damage Step, but Yusei activates "Power Shift" to reduce the ATK of "Stardust Dragon" to 0 until the end of the turn. This reduces this card's ATK to 1000 until the end of the Damage Step - since "Stardust Dragon" is in Defense Position (with 2000 DEF), the attack fails. Taro then activates "Attack and Receive" to inflict 700 damage to Yusei. On Taro's next turn, he activates "Meteorain" to allow his monsters to inflict piercing damage this turn. This card then attacks "Stardust Dragon". Due to this card's effect, its ATK becomes equal to the ATK of "Stardust Dragon" plus 1000 until the end of the Damage Step, but Yusei activates "Graceful Revival" to revive "Tuningware". Yusei then activates "Urgent Tuning" to Synchro Summon a Synchro Monster during the Battle Phase. Yusei then tunes "Tuningware" with "Turbo Synchron" in order to Synchro Summon "Formula Synchron". Yusei then tunes "Stardust Dragon" with "Formula Synchron" to Accel Synchro Summon "Shooting Star Dragon". A replay occurs and Taro uses this card to attack "Shooting Star Dragon". Due to this card's effect, its ATK becomes equal to the ATK of "Shooting Star Dragon" plus 1000 until the end of the Damage Step, but Yusei activates the third effect of "Shooting Star Dragon", removing it from play until the end of the turn. This makes this card's ATK 0, so Taro chooses not to attack. Taro then activates "Fool's Dice" to inflict 2000 damage to Yusei (the damage was equal to the Level of the monster that he removed from the field times 200). On the final turn of the Duel, "Shooting Star Dragon" attacks this card. Due to this card's effect, its ATK becomes equal to the ATK of "Shooting Star Dragon" plus 1000 until the end of the Damage Step. Yusei then activates the effect of "Monster Baton", sending "Earthquake Giant" from his hand to the Graveyard in order to activate the effect of "Boreas the Sharp" as the effect of "Monster Baton" (this effect can't be negated by this card, as it's not an effect that belongs to "Shooting Star Dragon"). Due to the effect of "Boreas the Sharp", "Shooting Star Dragon" is not destroyed and Yusei takes no Battle Damage. After damage calculation, this card is destroyed, shocking many of the spectators and Team Taiyo themselves. Yusei then activates "Explosive Breakout" to reduce the ATK of "Shooting Star Dragon" by 800 and allow it to attack again due to this card being at least Level 8.
    • In the second above-mentioned episode, many spectators are showing this card in front of both Team 5D's and Team Taiyo declaring it's pointless for Yusei to win and this card is invincible. When Yusei manages to destroy "Zushin" with "Monster Baton", one spectator drops his copy of this card in shock.
    • In the second above-mentioned episode, this card appears in Bruno's explanation when he explains to Team 5D's that "Zushin the Sleeping Giant" can't be targeted by the effects of Spell and Trap Cards.
    • In the second above-mentioned episode, MC wonders if Yusei is powerless against "Zushin" and the crowd agrees, brandishing this card and declaring "Zushin" has no weakness.
