- In episode 162 (On the Wrong Track, Part III), Rex Raptor offered Giant Rex and Gilasaurus as a tribute to Summon this card in his duel against Joey Wheeler. It destroyed Red-Eyes B. Dragon, dropping Joey's Life Points to 300. Rex then activated Chain of the Underworld to Special Summon Red-Eyes back to the field, but reducing its ATK to 1700. Tyrant Dragon attacked Red-Eyes again, but Joey activated Celebration of Creation, forcing Rex to end his turn. It was eventually destroyed by the effect of Red-Eyes Black Dragon Sword.
- In Capsule Monsters this monster was part of The Fiendish Five group of Dragons, and lived inside a volcano. Yugi fought him with his Black Luster Soldier and was about to win but the Dragon managed to escape. Tyrant Dragon later fused with the other four dragons to form the Five-Headed Dragon.
- This card is featured in the opening of the Grand Championship Arc.
