In episode 196, Leon von Schroeder uses this card during his duel against Yami Yugi. He Special Summons this card via the effect of "Iron Hans". In the next episode, Leon activates "Iron Cage" to destroy "Iron Hans" for one turn. This increases the ATK of this card by 1000. This card then attacks and destroys Yugi's "Obnoxious Celtic Guard". On Leon's next turn, the effect of "Iron Cage" expires and "Iron Hans" is returned to the field. This card's ATK then decreases by 1000. The effect of "Iron Hans" then activates, allowing Leon to Special Summon another copy of this card. Leon then activates "Spinning Wheel Spindle" to destroy "Queen's Knight" for three turns. "Iron Hans" then attacks directly, but Yami activates "Mirror Force" to destroy all of Leon's monsters. Leon then activates "Water of Life" to revive "Iron Hans". He then activates the latter's effect to summon a third copy to the field. Later Yugi's "Dark Magician Girl" attacks and destroys this card. In the following episode, Yami Yugi activates "Necromancy" to revive this card, "Iron Hans", "Little Red Riding Hood", and "Forest Hunter" under Leon's control. Yami Yugi then activates "Diffusion Wave-Motion" to allow "Dark Magician" to attack all monsters Leon controls once each. "Dark Magician" then attacks and destroys this card, "Forest Hunter", "Iron Hans", and "Iron Knight". Due to the effect of "Necromancy", "Hexe Trude" loses 2400 ATK (600 ATK for each "Necromancy"-summoned monster that was destroyed). "Dark Magician" then attacks and destroys "Hexe Trude", winning Yami Yugi the Duel.
In the first above-mentioned episode, this card is shown within Leon's backstory flashback when he explains how he became fascinated into Duel Monsters after discovering the game as well as how he always wanted to face Yugi in a Duel.
